Happy 62nd !!!

We took my MIL Mimi and my FIL Win, out to lunch on Saturday for their 62nd wedding anniversary !!! Congratulations, you two crazy kids. I asked them why they picked that date and they said because it was the first day of winter break. Good enough reason for me. This is what I wore to go get Japanese food.

I haven't worn real jeans in a long time. I love to wear yoga pants, and I have a pair of jeggings, so these boot cut Levis don't get much action. On top, my warm up jacket that I got at Harvard.

I wore my Hermes belt and some heeled desert booties with lug soles.

Today, another dress that I haven't worn since last year, at least. It's a leather sheath from Romeo and Juliet Couture that I got at Saks. Underneath, a red and black chiffon blouse with bell sleeves that I got at JC Penney.

I wore two necklaces - the shorter one is garnet, and the longer one is KJL, and was my mom's.

My December Ipsy bag came on Saturday. It's a sparkly silver one this time.

Inside:

1) A contour brush for blending
2) A NYX black eyeliner - I need this
3) Rimmel Stay Matte foundation primer
4) Nip + Fab Dragon's Blood Fix Plumping Serum
5) Derma-E Radiant Glow Face Oil

All the Jingle Ladies

I saw that on a sweatshirt and though it was cute, but I'm pretty sure that I am almost the last person to see it. Anyway, Wednesday saw the successful delivery of Doc's Christmas present:

A beautiful vintage bookcase for his antique medical book collection (or some of it). I placed a few of our mementos on the shelves. Doc's childhood teddy bear:

Two crystal doorstops from my own childhood:

My favorite picture of my favorite dogs - Delila, Black Jack, and Domino: PS Don't tell Pandi

Yesterday, we had our office Christmas party. I resurrected my wonderful Calvin Klein sweater dress for the occasion.

I wore the same necklaces as the day before - my mom's coin from the Vatican and my Louis Vuitton padlock.

Also, the same arms as the day before - left has my yellow gold wedding set and my Hermes CDC. i somehow neglected to get my right arm, but it wasn't all that exciting.

Today, we have the management Christmas party. I am wearing a gold lurex sweater dress from Express.

On top, my gold leather jacket from C Concept. My pictures today are tilted and even more amateurish than usual, because Doc is off today and was snoring happily away as I was getting ready to leave for work.

Three costume necklaces, all from INC.

We do a gift exchange at the party. One year, I had just come home from a trip the night before the party. I had purchased the gift early, but forgot the wrapping paper. I wrapped it in some crappy leftover paper, and it was the last gift chosen. Boo. So this year, I have a new strategy.

We'll see how well this works.

All That Glitters is Not Gold

Sometimes it's silver, or pink, or even black!!! I am a sparkly lover - once December 1 rolls around, I am wearing all the shiny things!!

Yesterday was particularly glittery :

I combined an INC grey metallic skirt with a deeper grey tank covered in clear sequins. On top, a hot pink shrug with silver embroidery. I forget the brand of this shrug - I only wear it a couple of times per year, so it has lasted a long time.

On my left arm, a white gold wedding set, a diamond tennis bracelet, and an Italian silver bracelet.

On my right arm, a tanzanite ring and another Italian silver bracelet.

This lacy medallion necklace was my mom's. You can see the embroidery on the shrug better in this shot.

Today, a little different. This is a jersey knit tunic from Alice and Olivia. It has leather epaulets and leather cuffs. The cuffs have gold zippers and there is an exposed gold back zip.The printed satin skirt is from Notations.

See the quilted epaulets? I wore two gold necklaces. The longer one is actually costume, from Louis Vuitton. The shorter one is a gold coin that my mom got at the Vatican.

Here's a better look at the coin necklace.

On my left arm, a seed bead cuff from the Chakra Shack in Laguna Beach, and my yellow gold wedding set.

On my right arm, a smoky topaz ring and my Hermes CDC.

Also, last night, my December Birchbox came:

From top to bottom:
1) Bioderma Sensibio Micelle Solution Makeup Remover
2) Sunday Riley CEO Rapid Flash Brightening Serum
3) Marcelle Ultimate Volume Nano Mascara - it has a very small brush, on purpose. I like it.
4) Birchbox Eyelash Curler
5) CLEAN blossom Eau de Parfum
6) Davines MINU Illuminating Shampoo, Illuminating Conditioner, and Hair Serum

I am NOT Ready for my Close Up,Mr DeMille

Ugh. I have not had good luck with my pictures lately. Last night, we went to a Christmas Fireside at the local LDS church, where three of my grandkids sang in the children's choir. This is what I wore:

This is a gold lurex turtleneck with a pair of slim ankle pants from Ann Taylor. I look rather bunchy again.

On top, I wore a vintage jacket. It is black on black brocade with lush faux fur cuffs.

The closeup is not the greatest, either. It's actually a beautiful jacket, and I try to wear it at least a couple of times a year.

I accessorized with a gold herringbone chain, with a faux emerald pendant.

Another favorite item that I break out during the holidays are these velvet and gold embroidered booties from Speigel.

Today - a different lurex turtleneck, but still bunchy!!!. And Doc told me that he liked this outfit.

The plaid skirt has it's share of lurex also, but with a black plaid. It's from The Limited.

I kept the same necklace as last night, but added a smaller, real emerald.

On my left arm, my yellow gold wedding rings ad two gold bracelets, both two-toned metal.

On my right arm, an emerald/diamond ring, a gold bracelet, and a peridot bracelet.

Just before I went to work, little Pandi was missing. I found her in one of our blankets. I was about to toss it onto the bed. It's a good thing I saw the little black and white head peeking out.

She did not appreciate being disturbed.

So let's forget the crummy pictures and link to some better ones!!!

Sleigh Bells Are Ringin'

The parties are upon me. It is a love/hate relationship. I have to perform appropriately, but that is counteracted because I get to dress up. Yesterday, it was windy again - I'm sure you know that California has multiple wildfires going on. I have such empathy for those poor people. One thing that I did get to experience was the incredible amount of electricity in the air. This beautiful Calvin Klein sweater dress got all bunchy because I wore cotton tights instead of nylon ones.

See how the skirt is all scrunchy? I forgot about the dryer sheet trick, so I used the hairspray trick and that worked pretty well. At least the skirt fell to my knees normally. I had to spray the tights and my half slip. Ugh.

Underneath this normally gorgeous aubergine dress, I wore a gold lurex tank by St John. Three gold necklaces gussied it up - the short pineapple from Honolulu, the gold herringbone from my Mom, and the long lock from Doc and Louis Vuitton.

When I got in the elevator, two little old ladies were in there, and one said "Aren't you fancy!!!". Indeed I am, and plan on always being fancy. On my left arm, Hermes CDC and yellow gold wedding rings.

On the right arm, a ruby cocktail ring and a seed bead bracelet from the Chakra Shack in Laguna Beach.

Today was the party at Ola Mexican Kitchen in Huntington Beach. It was a work event. I started with a deep forest green wool knit dress by Land's End. I had always considered that a matronly brand, but I tell you, this dress has excellent figure flattering seaming, pockets, and is wool blend knit, so super comfy. The floral part is a belt that I will show you below.

I accessorized the forest dress with a red YSL chain bag and black suede Sesto Meucci pumps with red organza rosettes. Very Holiday Appropriate.

On top, I wore an ivory ottoman jacket by St John, with the coolest gold features . I have good pictures of this, but can't find them. It is an elegant, luxe, heavyweight ottoman woven fabric.

The gemmies are likewise holiday themed. The shortest is an emerald/diamond necklace that Doc gave me. The middle one is the same gold herringbone as yesterday, but with a garnet rollerball added.

For the long length, the LV lock and gold chain from yesterday. This is a closeup of the embroidery on the velvet obi. It also has two long cords with lush tassels that come with it, and they give you a guide on different ways to tie them. Spiegel had them for 90% off, so I got this one and a gold/black combo one. But I have not had time to play with them. I think that this holiday season should be a great time.

On my left arm, my yellow gold wedding rings, a peridot bracelet, and a ruby bracelet.

On my right arm, an emerald/diamond ring, a garnet bracelet, and a gold bracelet.
