The Seventies Are Calling

And they want their clothes back!!! Two of the outfits that I wore this week definitely have a 70s spin on them. First, my hippie mama dress from Victoria's Secret:

I have always loved this knit dress, and so does Doc. It is black with a pale tan lace trim.

Since it was chilly (for SoCal, that is) I wore a black cashmere turtleneck under it and my BCBG boots.

My necklace is from EBay, and it is smoky topaz and buffalo turquoise.

On my left arm, my matching Swarovksi set - the Nirvana ring in black diamond and the Infinity bracelet.

On my right arm, a mabe pearl ring and a Brighton bracelet.

Then we move on to today's acid trip. I actually think that I am imitating Jennifer Hart from Hart to Hart with this outfit.

I am wearing slacks from Mossimo, a silk blouse from unknown parts, and a crew neck sweater from Casual Corner.

The pants are maroon with hot pink flecks in the tweed.

I have worn this belt from White House Black Market three times so far - twice as a necklace, and then today as a belt - the way it's supposed to be.

In this shot of my costume necklace, you can see that the sweater also has maroon lurex.

On my left arm, an onyx ring and a garnet bracelet.

On my right arm, a purple crystal costume ring and a hematite costume bracelet.

That just about does it for this little flashback of mine. For today's links:

Quality Time with my Step Child

Once again, I am kidding !!! We have three dogs - Kenni the MinPin has been around the longest at 7 years, then Elli the Chihuahua at five years. But just about three years ago, we were asked if we would like to adopt another little guy -  Vinni Barbarino Holtzman the Corgi/Eskimo. I wanted to take him for a long walk by himself yesterday, since I don't get to spend much time with him. Kenni tends to go ballistic whenever Vinni gets attention. So Doc babysat while we walked.

He was sooooo excited!!!

We walked for about an hour and a half and Vinni showed no signs of getting either bored or tired.

We walked through a neighboring condo complex. They had the most attractive pool area.

They also had three pools with koi in them. When we got closer, the koi all rushed over, because I think they wanted to be fed.

Then we came home and watched the Super Bowl and the Halftime show. What a game, and what a show!!! Then, last night, it began pouring again. This is what I wore to work:

This is a Shelby and Palmer jersey knit dress. It has many bright jewel toned colors in the print, so it can be worn with a lot of different accessories. If it weren't raining, I would have worn my navy suede lace up pumps. As it is, I did wear my fuchsia suede jacket by Pamela McCoy.

Here's a better look at the side tie detail.

With it, I wore another necklace that was my mom's. It has three strands of faux turquoise beads. I used two of them, and held them in the center with the clip that came with them.

On my right arm, two sapphire bracelets and a London Blue Topaz ring.

On my left arm, a J Crew crystal bracelet and a sapphire ring.

Go Red for Women Day

Today is National Go Red for Women Day, and all women are encouraged to wear red to show our support for the cause of reducing heart disease in women. A wardrobe challenge - right up my alley!!! So here is what I wore:

This is a red shaker knit pirate sweater from Calvin Klein. The slacks are a real throwback - I don't think I have worn them in many many years.

They have red, grey and silver embroidery down the left leg.

I also broke out my equally old Guess red reptile booties.

On my right arm, my Hermes CDC and my white enamel/crystal ring from Saks.

On my left arm, my red leather / goldtone cuff from INC.

For a change, a costume necklace that is matte gold with multicolor gem cabochons.

I missed showing you what I wore yesterday, but here it is.

This is a Versace pleated silk skirt with the classic Medusa pattern. I went all Italian and wore the matching Medusa belt.

The long sleeved T shirt is black with gold lurex stripes, and is from Valerie Stevens.

I topped it off with my Draper and Damon's warmup jacket. You can see the stud detail in the shot below that I took of my Joan Rivers convertible necklace.

I wore my CDC again!!

On my right arm, my seed bead cuff from the Chakra Shack in Laguna Beach. Also, a citrine ring.

So that catches us up !!!

Pretty Pretty Patterns

It's kind of unusual that I wear patterned outfits two days in a row, but this week I did. First, on Tuesday

This is a Donna Morgan dress that I picked up in Santa Barbara last year. I love dresses that don't need ironing and that can just be pulled out of the closet and worn as is.

On top, my pearlized gold leather jacket by Concept.

I wore two necklaces, but the top one is hard to see, unless you look closely. It's a tiny pearl pendant. The longer one is a faux pearl drop from a Joan Rivers convertible set.

I had a meeting last night, and didn't get home until late, so once again, no ironing !! This is a dress from Connected Apparel, topped with a jacket from Bloomingdale's.

The best part of this honeycomb patterned dress is the ruching detail o the side.

And on my feet, navy suede shoes from INC.

On my right arm, a London Blue Topaz ring and an INC costume cuff that I got in Fort Lauderdale.

On my left arm, a matching bangle and ring set in white enamel and crystal from Saks.

And a navy and white costume necklace from Charming Charlie.

And that's about it for a busy Wednesday, except for some links!!
