No, I'm not mad. I'm seeing red because of this:
My Ivanka Trump T shirt dress. I love this easy fit dress. It has a nice draped detail down the front and a zipper detail at the shoulder that makes it different from most T shirt dresses. I will say, however, that most of the comments I get about this dress are aimed at the bright, happy color.
You can see the shoulder details here. I wore two necklaces - the shorter one is a gold chain that was my mom's, and the longer lariat style is Greenbeads by Emily and Ashley from Neiman Marcus.
On my right arm, I have two diamond chip bracelets, one with garnet stations. I also have a ruby cocktail ring.
On my left arm, my CDC again, along with my yellow gold wedding set. The CDC goes well with my Versace belt.
Yesterday was Elli's day at the office of Beach Medical. Doc was busy, so he and his staff didn't get a lot of time to play with her. He did say that she got two walks. But the most of the rest of the day was spent sleeping in her little bucket. You really can't even see her. When she got home, she ate like a vulture, even though Doc fed her at work.
Now she is recuperating at home, in her own private home crate. She is extremely spoiled.

The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia
But...... it was actually Huntington Beach. And only half of the lights went out. Last night, we had a half-blackout. So the electrician who redid our system a few years ago is coming by tonight to save us. We are so lame when it comes to ANYTHING going wrong at the house. Oh well, as Doc says , "We are helping support our friend's small businesses." That's a good thing.
Speaking of blackouts:
I had to get ready for work in semi-darkness, so at least I have an excuse for my appearance. I had one outfit all picked out, but it just looked enormous on me, so I changed into the ever popular LBD.
As you can see by the pix below, it has lacy sleeves, and also a lacy skirt portion. Otherwise, it's just a plain shift with a waist seam and some pleats front and back.
I did once again bust into my jewelry collection to get three gemstone necklaces to liven up the dress. The top is amethyst, the middle is a pearl cluster, and the bottom is citrine.
All black also gave me a chance to bust out my new Collier de Chien bracelet. I bought it as a treat with some of my inheritance. I was saving it for fall, but I needed a mental boost this morning, so here you have it.
Let's link, and then forget this stressful non-event. Today we have www.highlatitudestyle.com, www.happinessatmidlife.com and www.eleganceandmommyhood.blogspot.com
And one final note : Let there be light !!!

Lacy, But Not Racy
Today I am wearing the other dress that I got at the church sale over the weekend:
This time, it's the lacy blue knit dress with the darts and the waist seam, which give it a bit of the retro look. I wore my floral BCBG pumps with it - they are starting to show some wear, so they may be going byebye soon.
I wore a trio of gemstone necklaces with the dress, since it's a little on the plain side (for me, anyway). The top one is blue topaz, the center is amethyst, and the bottom one is emerald. All are one gold chains - the shortest one was my mom's, and is more elaborate than the other two.
On my left arm, my Swarovksi Nirvana in Indolite, along with a stretchy crystal bracelet from Saks.
On my right arm, a gold bracelet, and a stack of accent rings - these were also left to me by my mom.
Lots of links, since it's Wednesday !!!

They Call Me Mellow Yellow
And in a minute, there will be no wondering why:
Yellow, yes. Mellow, um not so much. Anyway, this is the yellow and white polka dot dress that I got at the church rummage sale last weekend. Since bumblebees are so cute, I decided to go with black accents and go bumblebee all the way.
On my right arm, an INC cuff that I got in Fort Lauderdale, and a citrine ring.
On my left arm, another INC cuff, this time elasticized metal, and a plastic ring. No crown jewels today.

I know I have been boring lately, but believe me, I am hoping for some excitement, too !!

It all started with the black satin ribbon sash and the black shoes. Then it extended to my black plastic waterfall necklace that I have had forever.

Color Crush
Today, I wore my Bar III knit wiggle dress. The last time I wore it, I went with the safe option of my Coach tan sandals. But today, I went with my orange Alfani sandals. A friend had to get them for a wedding, and she never even wore them, since she is not used to wearing heels.
It seems like a good match to me - another way to wear these strangely colored shoes.
Here is the alternative. This is what I wore on July 5.
Two necklaces today, both costume. The shorter one is Ann Taylor, and the longer one is INC. You also get to see my fabulous, stylish exam jacket. I think that I prefer the jewelry that I wore on July 5, but that's a toss up.
On my right arm, a stretchy bracelet from INC, and an amethyst ring.
On my left arm, a tricolor gold bracelet, and my yellow gold wedding set.
This weekend, I tried a special concoction for the large brown spot on my face. Here is the before and after:
No spectacular change - it may be a bit more pale, but that may also be an optical illusion. I got all these spots from laying in the sun as a child, and all the way up to a couple of years ago, so that is about 55 years of sun exposure. They are usually spackled over by my foundation.
You know who still loves the sun?
That's right - Elli !!! And she is 100 years old (14 human) to my 57. She loves basking after her dinner.
So the kid's church had a rummage sale this weekend, so I went - my dual purpose was to score some goodies as well as help out the church. I got 3 items .
First up is this yellow polka dot dress. I don't know why you can't see the polka dots - it also looks like I had some kind of filter on the camera. Don't ask me - if I did, it was completely random.
This is a closeup of the dress. I was amazed that a F21 dress would have binding on the ruffle edges as opposed to just a hem. It's also lined.
Then I got this dress by En Focus Studio. It's that knit lace fabric that has been popular for a couple of years. This dress is also fully lined. It's kind of a retro shape, with darts and a waistline.
Then I got this ombre crinkled top. It has cold shoulders. I know they are popular now, but I'll bet that this top was purchased by the original owner the first time the trend went around.
It was a quiet weekend - just hung out, not much to do. That's okay every once in a while. I watched the Olympics and read my library books. We didn't even go out to eat - Doc cooked both days.

It's Paparazzi Time !!!
I was off yesterday, due to a very important engagement - my husband Doc got filmed for a Tru TV show up in Pasadena. First things first - this is what I wore. Obviously, what I wore was THE most crucial element of the whole day.
I started off with a white cold shoulder dress. I had Doc take my usual picture, and then I looked at it to see how my outfit looked.
Then I got an idea.
Et Voila!!! Much better with the belt.
So we drove up to Pasadena for the shoot. It was filmed in a private home that looked to be built in the 1920s. In order not to disturb the neighbors in the exclusive neighborhood where the beautiful property was located, we were picked up at a nearby church and shuttled up to the house. First, we stopped at a tea shop, and I got a mango tea with boba.
There I am, in front of the church.
We were dropped off, and led back to the craft services area, where there was a lot of food set up.
In the back yard, there was a lot of equipment - lights, booms, filters, shades, and a bunch of things that I could not identify. There was also a basset hound named Danger, but he was pretty shy. It was also 90 degrees, so he was hot and mostly laid around.
Doc was instructed to wear scrubs. He sat in the makeup chair and got all powdered and fluffed.
Then they set up the scene where he walks into the house to be interviewed. It took the crew about 20 minutes to set up for the 5 second scene.
Then he sat in the living room with the hosts, Abbi and Matt.
Cheryl from Doc's office came with us for moral support ( and drove us up there)
They would film a portion, then look at the raw footage. If it was good, then a few people on another room would begin editing it on their laptops.
The guy ion the black shorts is the director. That thing that looks like a big screen TV is actually a spotlight. Doc couldn't see anything beyond it. He was all miked up, with a cord running down his pants leg and attached to a gizmo on his ankle.
The guy in the grey shorts is the producer. It took about 3 hours for them to film his part. There will be a lot of editing before it is aired. It was a fun and interesting experience that Doc enjoyed and got well paid for. I will keep you posted as to when it will air, but it will be a while.
So back to reality today. Here's what I wore today.
This is a Laundry chiffon skirt that has just a few sequins on it. The tan Chico's sweater has a gold foil animal print. I wore my new Ivanka Trump shoes that I paid a penny for. Best deal ever.
I wore a heavy costume link necklace.
On my right arm, two pieces from Saks - a white enamel / crystal ring and a stretchy crystal bracelt.
On my left arm, my yellow gold wedding set, and two gold bracelets.
So that was our brush with Hollywood. Doc is hoping to get more spots like this - he did a really good job, and everyone liked him. He did most things in just one take, which the producer liked.

Doc said my dress looked like a muumuu, so I added a vintage belt.
