The horsies beat the kitty kats !!!

I didn't have a favorite team before I went to my friend's house for the big Super Bowl party. But as I was deciding what to wear, I figured that I have been to Denver 3 times, but I haven't been to the Carolinas (but will be going in June), so I would go Broncos !!!!

Here's my shout out to Peyton and the horsies:

I'm running for the goal line!!! This is a Saks Fifth Ave Black cold shoulder top and some ancient white drawstring pants. I wore a silver necklace that my mom gave me - the neckline of the top is already somewhat embellished.

On my right arm,

My Swarovski Nirvana in Black Diamond and a costume silver tone and crystal bracelet. On my right arm

Another silver bracelet (real) and a diamond/sapphire twisty band. I busted out a pair of summer shoes, since it was 82 degrees and beautiful yesterday.

For the party, I made fresh fruit salad. I started with a lemon juice glaze.

Then I added mango nectar and made a simple syrup with the juices.

This sat overnight. In the morning, I chopped up a bunch of fresh fruit.

There were bananas, canteloupe, granny smith, fuji, nectarines, a red pear, and oranges. I added thawed mixed berries.

I also added three kinds of canned fruit

Apricot halves, fruit cocktail and pineapple. They were all packed in juice. I added a bit of pineapple juice, but drank the rest. On the top, I made a yogurt dressing.

Then I decorated it with pomegranate juice, more honey, and pine nuts.

Et voila!!!!

It was literally snarfed up. Today, it's back to work. I have an important meeting today, so here is what I wore:

My black scuba and ivory Venice lace dress by Jax. This little beauty really needs very little in the way of adornment, but you know me - I can never leave well enough alone. So I wore my JC Penney cross necklace.

On my right arm, a leather/crystal cuff that I got as a souvenir in Baltimore and the Nirvana again.

On my left, the same silvertone bracelet and twist ring as yesterday, with a marquise solitaire added for luck.

One last thing - we went to Big Lots on Saturday, and I got these fuzzy butterfly hangers. They were 2 for $2. They are supposed to be used for storing scarves, but I will be using them to hang my accessories for the following day on my outfit hook.

And that's it, except for some links!!! Deb from www.elegantlyfashionable.com has Classy Monday, while How I Fall is going on over at www.pinksole.com, which is Rachelle's blog. And Patti at www.notdeadyetstyle.com has Visible Monday.

Go Red For Women

Today, the American Heart Association is sponsoring Go Red for Women day. To show support for the cause, fighting heart disease in women, we are asked to wear red.

I look super irritated in these pictures, but I am just tired. After work last night, I went down and we had a party for my mom's 96th birthday where she lives. I got her a giant sunflower bouquet like Doc got for me, and a big Nothing Bundt Cakes lemon cake.

Anyway, the red sweater is Calvin Klein, and the skirt is Notations. It is made of a double layer of chiffon. It can be reversed if I want, One layer is cherries and the other is ditzy floral, but they are both red patterns on a black background.

I know I have mentioned my love for Calvin Klein a few times before, and this sweater is no exception. Here's a better look at the pirate style neckline, along with my garnet necklace.

The grommets and the metal tips of the laces have the CK logo on them. I love little touches like that. I wore my BCBG boots with this getup.

On my left hand, I have and INC red leather and goldtone cuff and a ruby cocktail ring.

On my right arm, a gold/diamond dust bangle and a a garnet ring.

And that's about it. Let's do a brief linkup with two of my favorites - Deb at www.elegantlyfashionable.com has Fab Fridays, and Dawn Lucy at www.fashionshouldbefun.com has Fun Fashion Friday. Have a great weekend, and stay tuned!!!

A Touch of Turquoise

Today's magical color is turquoise, so I am using the opportunity to wear my gorgeous turquoise jewelry that Doc has given me over the years.

And black is a sleek way to properly display it, in all it's beauty. The black dress has a tulip shaped skirt, and is by INC. The black bolero with turquoise trim is also INC. Here's a better look, along with my necklace from the Southwest Indian Foundation.

On my right arm,

A turquoise cuff, and a ring of amethyst and opal. On my left arm,

Another turquoise cuff, and another amethyst and opal ring.

Last night was bath time for Elli.

Is she an egg roll?

Is she a  burrito?

Or is she Yoda?

I think a case could be made for all three.

My favorite and usual Thursday links - Alice from www.happinessatmidlife.com has Throwback Thursday and Nicole from www.highlatitudestyle.com has Top of The World Style.

Today is my mom's 96th birthday, so hilarity and fun shall happen about 3PM at her facility. I'll keep you in the loop!!!

They Say I Am Intriguing

Well, this time it's not my sparkling personality. It's this:

My skirt is made by Intriguing Threads. I got it at Stein Mart. I also got the red turtleneck with sequin trim at Stein Mart. Here's a better look at it, along with my Charming Charlie necklace.

The stripes on the bottom of the skirt are actually grosgrain ribbon.

My white boucle blazer is made by Graff. It has black stitching trim.

I spiced this look up with my black and gold Sam and Libby boots.

On my right arm, a garnet/diamond ring and the beaded cuff that I got in Laguna Beach.

On my left arm, a stretchy crystal bracelet from Saks and my yellow gold wedding set.

And that's it for today. Onto the links. First, Liz at www.shoppingmycloset.com has Style Me Wednesday, and www.sydneyfashionhunter.com has Fashion Forum. Then, Tameka at www.pastriespumpsandpi.blogspot.com has Who's Wearing What Wednesday. And finally, Lindsey at www.thepleatedpoppy.com has What I Wore.

Too Much Too Doo !!!!

I was way to busy to do anything yesterday. The day was one of those that just flies by and is over before you realize it . So I will recap the weekend, Monday, and today. First, Preston made me a giant birthday card and dropped it by on Friday night.

This is the outside.

On the inside, he made two cutouts of the spotted dogs that I used to have .

Then he did little portraits of us - Note how he recreated his mohawk, and how tiny Elli is. I'm not really sure why he is bigger than me.

Now, let's move onto today's outfit. The color on my Magical Calendar is silver.

So I wore my pointelle knit sweater dress from Neiman Marcus.

On top, I wore my grey knit cardi from Macy's in Philadelphia. I doubled up on necklaces. The longer one is vintage Avon, from my mom, and the shorter one is costume silver tone.

On my right arm, two Austrian crystal stretch bracelets, and the marcasite ring that Luke, Ashley and Preston got for me one Christmas.

On my left arm, my seraphinite bracelet from the Southwest Indian Foundation, and my mother of pearl spaceship ring.

My grey boots form JC Penney completed the look perfectly.

For lunch, I had a gut bomb tamale. It tasted good, but it sat in my belly.

Over the weekend, we went down to see my mom, and of course, we went back to Pinoy. Here's what we got:

A BBQ chicken skewer with a boat load of sticky rice.

Ribs adobo, pancit, and marinated beef (similar to carne asada)

And a crab omelet with another boat load of rice.

Here's a picture of the interior. Next time, I'll get a better one. There were a lot of people lined up at the steam table, so I didn't want to invade their privacy.

Yesterday's magical color was lavender. Here's what I came up with.

These ponte knit pants are from Express, and the space dyed cardi is Jones New York. Underneath, I wore a beaded sweater from Mixit.

I wore my purple Austrian crystal necklace. On my left arm,

A bracelet of quartz, agate and amethyst, and a tanzanite ring. On my right arm,

The same two Austrian crystal stretch bracelets I am wearing today, and a larger tanzanite ring.

I took the opportunity to wear a largely ignored pair of purple tweed boots. They are very hard to zip up.

Also over the weekend, I went to Hobby Lobby and bought a new vase. We needed a large one.

Don't my birthday flowers look pretty in it? Here's a closeup of the top, made of free form circular gold things.

So let's do a lot of linking!!! First, Deb from www.elegantlyfashionable.com has Classy Monday, and then Rachelle from www.pinksole.com has How I Fall. Next, Cherie from www.stylenudge.com has her regular linkup, but it's more than shoes this week. Then, Melissa at www.mahogany-closet.com has Mahogany Closet Monday. And finally, Ana Luiza at www.northwestblonde.com has Start The Week Stylish.

Have a great day, and sorry for the missed day. I'll be good.
