A Touch of Turquoise

Today's magical color is turquoise, so I am using the opportunity to wear my gorgeous turquoise jewelry that Doc has given me over the years.

And black is a sleek way to properly display it, in all it's beauty. The black dress has a tulip shaped skirt, and is by INC. The black bolero with turquoise trim is also INC. Here's a better look, along with my necklace from the Southwest Indian Foundation.

On my right arm,

A turquoise cuff, and a ring of amethyst and opal. On my left arm,

Another turquoise cuff, and another amethyst and opal ring.

Last night was bath time for Elli.

Is she an egg roll?

Is she a  burrito?

Or is she Yoda?

I think a case could be made for all three.

My favorite and usual Thursday links - Alice from www.happinessatmidlife.com has Throwback Thursday and Nicole from www.highlatitudestyle.com has Top of The World Style.

Today is my mom's 96th birthday, so hilarity and fun shall happen about 3PM at her facility. I'll keep you in the loop!!!

They Say I Am Intriguing

Well, this time it's not my sparkling personality. It's this:

My skirt is made by Intriguing Threads. I got it at Stein Mart. I also got the red turtleneck with sequin trim at Stein Mart. Here's a better look at it, along with my Charming Charlie necklace.

The stripes on the bottom of the skirt are actually grosgrain ribbon.

My white boucle blazer is made by Graff. It has black stitching trim.

I spiced this look up with my black and gold Sam and Libby boots.

On my right arm, a garnet/diamond ring and the beaded cuff that I got in Laguna Beach.

On my left arm, a stretchy crystal bracelet from Saks and my yellow gold wedding set.

And that's it for today. Onto the links. First, Liz at www.shoppingmycloset.com has Style Me Wednesday, and www.sydneyfashionhunter.com has Fashion Forum. Then, Tameka at www.pastriespumpsandpi.blogspot.com has Who's Wearing What Wednesday. And finally, Lindsey at www.thepleatedpoppy.com has What I Wore.

Too Much Too Doo !!!!

I was way to busy to do anything yesterday. The day was one of those that just flies by and is over before you realize it . So I will recap the weekend, Monday, and today. First, Preston made me a giant birthday card and dropped it by on Friday night.

This is the outside.

On the inside, he made two cutouts of the spotted dogs that I used to have .

Then he did little portraits of us - Note how he recreated his mohawk, and how tiny Elli is. I'm not really sure why he is bigger than me.

Now, let's move onto today's outfit. The color on my Magical Calendar is silver.

So I wore my pointelle knit sweater dress from Neiman Marcus.

On top, I wore my grey knit cardi from Macy's in Philadelphia. I doubled up on necklaces. The longer one is vintage Avon, from my mom, and the shorter one is costume silver tone.

On my right arm, two Austrian crystal stretch bracelets, and the marcasite ring that Luke, Ashley and Preston got for me one Christmas.

On my left arm, my seraphinite bracelet from the Southwest Indian Foundation, and my mother of pearl spaceship ring.

My grey boots form JC Penney completed the look perfectly.

For lunch, I had a gut bomb tamale. It tasted good, but it sat in my belly.

Over the weekend, we went down to see my mom, and of course, we went back to Pinoy. Here's what we got:

A BBQ chicken skewer with a boat load of sticky rice.

Ribs adobo, pancit, and marinated beef (similar to carne asada)

And a crab omelet with another boat load of rice.

Here's a picture of the interior. Next time, I'll get a better one. There were a lot of people lined up at the steam table, so I didn't want to invade their privacy.

Yesterday's magical color was lavender. Here's what I came up with.

These ponte knit pants are from Express, and the space dyed cardi is Jones New York. Underneath, I wore a beaded sweater from Mixit.

I wore my purple Austrian crystal necklace. On my left arm,

A bracelet of quartz, agate and amethyst, and a tanzanite ring. On my right arm,

The same two Austrian crystal stretch bracelets I am wearing today, and a larger tanzanite ring.

I took the opportunity to wear a largely ignored pair of purple tweed boots. They are very hard to zip up.

Also over the weekend, I went to Hobby Lobby and bought a new vase. We needed a large one.

Don't my birthday flowers look pretty in it? Here's a closeup of the top, made of free form circular gold things.

So let's do a lot of linking!!! First, Deb from www.elegantlyfashionable.com has Classy Monday, and then Rachelle from www.pinksole.com has How I Fall. Next, Cherie from www.stylenudge.com has her regular linkup, but it's more than shoes this week. Then, Melissa at www.mahogany-closet.com has Mahogany Closet Monday. And finally, Ana Luiza at www.northwestblonde.com has Start The Week Stylish.

Have a great day, and sorry for the missed day. I'll be good.

If it's Friday, Then I am Going Wild !!!

Case in point:

I am wearing a Halogen skirt from Nordstrom, and a pearl trimmed white leopard cardi from INC. Underneath, I have a lace trimmed V neck T shirt from Loft. Since it was chilly in the AM, I wore my grey brocade coat from Amanda Stevens.

My necklace is costume silver with elongated pearls, and I got it at Stein Mart. I love it, and have already repaired it a couple of times.

On my right arm, another costume jewelry piece from INC, and a marcasite ring that Luke, Ashley and Preston gave me for Christmas one year.

On my left arm, a white gold wedding set and the pearl bracelet that I got in Laguna Beach a couple of months ago.

Since yesterday was Thursday, Elli had to work. Doc said that she didn't sleep all day long, and every time she wasn't being held, she would cry and whine. Someone should tell her that there's no crying in modeling. The girls took turns spoiling her.

When she got home from a long day at the office, she conked out. She fell asleep standing up, like a horse. She does that sometimes. Last week, she fell over when she did it and her head made a loud bonking noise on the adobe tile.

There are always lots of links on Friday. Dawn Lucy from www.fashionshouldbefun.com has Fun Fashion Friday, and Christie from  www.theclosetbychristie.com has Friday Favorites. Then, Deb from www.elegantlyfashionable.com has Fab Fridays, and last but not least, Jo Lynne has Fashion Friday over at www.jolynneshane.com.

Have a good day, and I'll see you after the weekend!!!

So This is 57......

The first day of year 57 went well. The office gave me a nice spread from Pick Up Stix.

Then Doc showed up, bearing these.

These are the biggest sunflowers I have ever seen. Doc usually gets me flowers every Wednesday from Costco, so I figured that he got these there as well. They actually came from the neighborhood florist - that's why they are so spectacular. He also brought two Bundlets from Nothing Bundt Cake.

One is chocolate chocolate chip and one is lemon.  He brought the cutest card.

When you open it, the Mexican Hat dance plays and the chihuahua with the margarita dances. I'm pretty sure that I have driven everyone crazy by playing with it.

Then Kim, Nathan, Benjy and Calista dropped by. They brought a cake that they all helped make.

It came with a Boston Terrier card.

They brought me a tulip plant also. This one is pink.

And finally, a bracelet and necklace that Joseph made. Kim said he put quite a bit of thought into the arrangement of the beads.

Last night, we went to the local dive bar. More on that later.

Here's what I wore today - the magical calendar color is crimson.

This is an Apt 9 wrap dress with a crimson cami from The Gap underneath. On top, more crimson.

My red leather jacket. I look crabby in these pictures, but that is an illusion. I wore my costume gold tone necklace.

On my right arm, a gold tone and red leather cuff from INC and a ruby cocktail ring.

On my left arm, a gold tone bangle watch and two stacked rings from my mom - one is a triple heart and the other is Black Hills Gold with a garnet.

That about wraps it up. So two lovely gals sent me a comment wishing me a Happy Birthday. So let's shout out - Kenzie from www.lifeaccordingtokenzie.com and Anna from www.annasislandstyle.com. Anna found me through Sydney Fashion Hunter, and all three of us have recent birthdays. So Happy Birthday to you as well!!!

Two links today - Alice from www.happinessatmidlife.com has Throwback Thursday and Nicole from www.highlatitudestyle.com has Top Of The World Style.

I hope everyone has a lovely day, and see you all later!!!
