Happy Vinn-A-Versary !!!!

So Friday, November 6th, marked one whole year of Vinnie Barbarino Holtzman's living at Casa de Holtzman. So of course, we celebrated in style:

Double cheeeseburgers from Mickey D !!! Kenni, being the one who has lived with us the longest, knew what was gonna go down.

The other two culprits caught on once they smelled the aroma.

Vinnie made quick work of his anniversary treat.

Hmm, I guess next time, I will have them hold the pickles!!!

Of course, we humans deserved a treat, as well. I bought two large boxes of Mrs Field's cookie dough from a neighbor kid, and so I baked up a few - half Rainbow Chip and half Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup.

I have repeatedly said, and I'll say it again - Mrs Field's Cookies are the best ever!!!

Well, I started exercising again last Friday night, since my bad cold seems to be getting better. I lost 5 pounds on the Cup A Noodle diet. I worked out for an hour Friday, and then ran a light run on Sunday morning. I did feel better afterwards. My pants are held up with safety pins today. Beer and chips needed.

Wanna know what else made me feel better besides puppers, cookies, and Doc? Macy's sent me a 25% off coupon that was good only yesterday. I was looking for a dark colored tote bag, and so I picked up this Anne Klein beauty:

It is half black leather and half animal print. The animal side has the AK lion logo, and there is a gold plate. The hardware is gold and the lining is bright orange. It's exactly what I had in mind.

One of my coworkers said that she heard on the radio that El Nino was supposed to start on November 9th. And, just as predicted, we had a nice rain storm today that lasted about a half hour. Here's what I wore to greet Mr. Nino.

This is a Nipon Boutique jacket, along with Talbott's slacks and a Joseph A silk knit sweater. I got the jacket during the summer at the same clothing swap where I scored my Yves St Laurent blazer.

It's sort of a greenish-gray color, with fuzzy trim on the collar and pockets. Here's a look, without the jacket.

My Joan Rivers statement necklace was the perfect accompaniment to the look. It tied all the colors together.

On my right arm, my new sapphire ring, and a sapphire bangle.

On my left arm, my yellow gold wedding rings and a gold and diamond dust bangle.

Even though I couldn't tell, I guess Elli had fun going into the office on Thursday. Here was her poor little face when Doc told her she couldn't go with him today.

Then she tried to sneak into his bags.

Then, to top it off, it rained, and she had to put her pink sweater on.

I know how you feel, my poor little Elli !!!!

The Working Girl

So as you know, my little Elli lives quite the life of a lady who lunches. And she gets very upset if her routine is interrupted by such trivial matters as the housekeeper doing her job. So we devised a new plan for every other Thursday. Here was Elli's face when Doc told her that she had some excitement in store:

So far, so good. Then he brought her into his office and set her up in her own little corner with an office of her very own.

So plush !!! So executive level!!!  She paid rapt attention to all the high level decisions that needed to be made.

She heard that walking meetings are better for your health, and also more productive.

But, she is not exactly a work horse, and so she decided that reclining meetings were better.

Then it was break time, and she had already had enough of this working crap.

She was a "less than model" employee. But there is a silver lining. She has always wanted to marry a doctor, and she found the man of her dreams :

Dr T !!!!   Looking for love in all the wrong places. Dr T is my husband's associate, and we all love him - but now, he is even Elli approved!!!

Well, enough medical office drama - back to me !!!! What did I wear today?

I am having a Stevie Nicks kind of day. I have on a midi length reptile print chiffon skirt, a grey lurex cowl neck sweater, and a sweatshirt jersey lace trimmed waterfall cardi. So elaborate.

Love this outtake. I wasn't aware that I ever stood like this.

The necklace I chose is my silver link that alternates with reptile links. On my right arm

A grey leather and crystal cuff and my mother of pearl spaceship ring. On my left arm

My favorite silver and crystal bracelet and a white gold wedding set. The criss cross band is Swarovksi. I finished the look with grey patterned hose and my grey Nine West shoes.

Two more links today !!! Christie from www.theclosetbychristie.com has Friday Favorites, and Dawn Lucy of www.fashionshouldbefun.com has Fun Fashion Friday !!!. Let's hope that our Elli has a good Friday, loafing as usual.

Oh Say Can You Dee See ?

Well, you KNOW I had to do some shopping while I was in DC -it's in my blood. So my friend, who arrived there before me, found what she calls the second best Marshall's in the world. And I'm thinking she's right, even though I'm not much of a Marshall's fan. I got the dress and the shoes I am wearing today while I was there.

It's a thick knit that survived being rolled up in my suitcase and carted home without suffering even a single wrinkle. I wore a turtleneck under it today, because it was a chilly morning. Here's a better look at the detail on the hem and waist.

For a touch of professionalism, I wore my Emmanuel Ungaro black blazer on top.

So let's get a better look at the shoes. They are made by Nine West, and are half smooth leather and half patent leather.

I wore my matte gold link necklace with the black cabochons.

On my right hand, my Saks white enamel and crystal ring, and on my left hand, my wedding rings and my J Crew crystal link bracelet.

And since today is Thursday, the usual two links. First, Nicole from www.highlatitudestyle.com has Top of the World Style, and then, Alice from www.happinessatmidlife.com has Throwback Thursday.

Since Elli hates to be crated for the maid to come, Doc took her into work with him. His patients can play with her while they wait to see him. I'll update you on her first day at the job. Have a great day!!

She Wore A Raspberry Beret

And she would have, if she had one- but I don't. But I did wear everything else in raspberry:

I am wearing a suede jacket by Pamela McCoy, tweed trousers by Loft, and a silk blouse by Joseph A. Here's a better look at the jacket:

It has a perforated pattern over some of the panels. Looky here:

So how does this look without the jacket?

A nice classic look. I am wearing my Paloma Picasso belt, an Austrian crystal necklace, and a shorter garnet necklace.

On my left arm, I have my stretchy crystal bracelet from Saks and a ruby cocktail ring.

On my right arm, just a garnet and diamond ring.

Before I leave you, here are a couple of outtakes from my daily photo session with Doc.

It takes a lot of adjusting to get everything all tucked up in place - and then it has to stay there!!!

So let's link - my favorite part !!! First, Liz at www.shoppingmycloset.com has Style Me Wednesday. Then Tameka at www.pastriespumpsandpi.blogspot.com has Who's Wearing What Wednesday.
