Doin' It Doggie Style

Now now. You know that I am a respectable, professional, sedate, zen, grannie. So we will soon discover the meaning of this title. First things first. On Saturday, I got up and went for a nice long run. It was a little tricky because the Concours d'Elegance car show was at Central Park where I like to run. I had to manoeuver very skillfully to get my whole 7 miles in. On the way out, I saw a sign: Boutique Accessories For Sale. In I went, like a moth to the flame. I got 2 boutique accessories.

First, a black and white leather clutch printed with a reptile pattern. It has a silver chain that you can use as a shoulder strap. Then,

A green satin hard case clutch that has been embellished with thousands of tonal crystals. Likewise for the silver chain shoulder strap. Since I was gone quite a bit longer than usual, I brought Doc a little gift for himself.

Mexican Pan Dulce !!! Yummy Mexican pastries!!! We have, starting at 6 o'clock: Pineapple turnover, churro twist, jelly cookie, brown sugar puerquito, and an oreja. Such good stuff.

We spent the rest of the day doing errands and some yard work. We are going to convert the front yard from completely grass to a grass pad with native and drought resistant varieties around the perimeter.

Anyway, on Sunday, the mystery to the title is solved. I joined a new social group : OC Dogs Meetup. We met at the Old Town Tustin Street Fair and Chili Cookoff. 23 dog owners signed up. So we put Elli in her bee suit and went over. We took her to Dr Lizardo's on Saturday for a pedi-pedi. We  also got her a new Gooby, this time bright blue. So she was A-STYLIN' at the fair.

But first, and most important, What Did Rosie Wear?

I wore a sweet chiffon dress by Kensie that I got at the Macy's in Kailua, Oahu. Along with it, my new espadrilles from Forever 21 that I bought to take to Orlando. PS - that's a towel, not a dead cat in the driveway. Doc used it to hold the can of spider spray, and this is where it ended up.

For my necklace, my agate item from another street fair.

This nice little dress seemed really inexpensive when I bought it, and since then, I have discovered why. The attached slip is about 4 inches too short.

So I still had to wear the pale pink half slip you see here. Problem solved, onto Tustin!!!

We parked behind Peppertree Park, at 1st and B in Tustin. Then we had to walk a couple of blocks.

The park, or "parkette", as the No sign said, was filled with blow up slides. I call it the No sign because No Dogs, No Skateboarding, No open containers, etc. The slides were cool and pretty popular with the little ones. Then we met our Group.

There were many many dogs, large and small. Elli was the tiniest. There was a gorgeous boxer and an equally majestic Black Standard Poodle that were just breathtaking. We posed next to the Adoption Sign. They were adopting out a lot of adorable, sweet dogs.

Then we walked around and got some food. Doc had 2 bacon wrapped hot dogs and a bratwurst with sauerkraut, and an Italian Ice. I had a Summer Shandy (delicious beer/lemonade combo) and a brat. We didn't see the Navajo Tacos until it was too late. Navajo Tacos are soooooo tasty. Then we walked through the car show.

A dealer had a few new cars to show. One was a black Cadillac Escalade. Doc loved it, at least until he saw the price - $84,0000. Yipes. My last two cars have been Cadillac CTS, and they are super nice, but also 50k. I'm too old - I need a heavy car around me in case I get in an accident, so I will pay what it costs.  Doc hasn't reached his breaking point yet, so he sticks with a Honda Accord. I tried to convince him by saying that the Escalade is undoubtedly SUPER SAFE. Unfortunately, it is not yet in our driveway, and most likely never will be. Car envy.

As the day got later, the crowd got bigger. Here are Elli and I, right smack in the middle of El Camino Real.

We got home in time to watch the super exciting Game 2 of the NBA finals. This is going to be a wild ride.

Back to work. Upon my arrival, I had one little issue in the GI Lab to see to, and then, the WHAMMY. CMS showed up for a three day unannounced survey. Fun and games galore. But, at least I look professional:

This is a sparkly tweed jacket by Spiegel, a poly tank top from Stein Mart, and a skirt by INC. Here's how it looks without the jacket.

Here's a better look at the jacket fabric.

I wore a costume necklace that is basically pink, red, and black.

I chose my Leopoldo Giordano butterfly shoes - an old favorite of mine.

Classic jewelry on both arms. On the right, two silver bracelets and an amethyst ring.

On the left, a wedding set, and a bracelet from Maya on Melrose.

So let's link!!! Sweet and lovely Patti from www.notdeadyetstyle.com is hosting her last Visible Monday of the year. I HAVE to join. Then, Dawn Lucy fro www.thestylenudge.com is having Shoe and Tell. I HAVE to join again!!! I like these guys. Well, wish me luck with the government, and I'll see you all later!!

MEA CULPA, MEA ULTIMA CULPA!!!! Cherie is having Shoe and Tell. She is another sweetheart, but not the same sweetheart as Dawn Lucy. Ugh.

Rumplestiltskin Awakes!!!

Whenever a sport reaches the playoffs, there are suddenly a lot of people interested in watching the games. I haven't really been watching the NBA since the Clippers got eliminated, but last night was Game 1 of the finals. We got together with a couple of friends last night to work on our research project, and after we finished, we watched the end of the game at a local sports bar. Doc was hungry, and their food is pretty good for bar food. Well, that game didn't disappoint. Somehow, it's more fun when you don't care who wins.

So that makes 3 nights this week that I was out on a school night. And since it's Friday and I have no meetings, I decided to go a little more casual today:

I have on H&M cropped pants, a Twelve by Twelve cardigan, and two Limited tops that I layered. Here's the look without the cardigan.

The T on top has some embellishment in the form of a screen print with tonal crystals.

The top underneath is a sparkly, sequined covered tank. Here's all that you can see of that - a band around the hem.

The cardigan has seed beaded epaulets on the shoulders. They are leather, and it zips up instead of buttoning.

This color combo is one that I have worn before, and I like it. It also gave me the chance to wear my Christian Siriano flats that I got a while back, but never wore.

They have a gold pancake heel and the bow trim has gold edges with Christian Siriano written on them. The gold ties in my jewelry, which is mostly sapphire, with a few diamonds thrown in for good luck.

My necklace is sapphire on a thick gold chain. On my right arm, a mish mash of sapphire bracelets.

On my left, one sapphire and diamond bracelet, my wedding set, and my diamond tennis bracelet that finally got properly repaired.

Now I don't have to be afraid that I will lose it if I wear it. It hasn't been secure for a long time, so you can bet I will be wearing it a lot, to play catch up!!!

Fortunately, I finished work early yesterday afternoon, and since I have some comp time coming to me, I left, and was able to squeeze in a workout. I got three new DVDs.

I did Kathy Smith and Billy Blanks last night. I liked them both. I still have Firm It Up to try out this weekend. Onto the daily links!!!

First, Dawn Lucy from www.fashionshouldbefun.com is having Fun Fashion Friday. I would say that my casual getup is sorta fun. Also, Lauren from www.stylelixir.com is having Fab Favorites. Everything I am wearing is old (and a favorite) except the CS flats. Maybe they will make the favorites rotation!!! Have a great day, and see you all after the weekend!!!

A Bummer of A Summer?

We still have a couple of weeks until the official beginning of the season. Apparently, we still have a lot of work to do, because this is the corner office view this morning.

It's been drizzly here for the last couple of mornings. But because of the drought, drizzly is good.

What did I wear to get sprinkled on?

This is a vintage Moschary jacket and INC pants. I looked up Moschary to see what the provenance is, and apparently, it was a brand from the 80s. There was one jacket on Etsy that was $125.00, so I guess it was sold in the nicer stores.  Here's a look at the side of the pants, showing the topstitching detail.

Here's a better look at the jacket.

It has some pretty intricate seaming. Underneath it, I am wearing a satin top from JC Penney.

Let's get a better look at the top.

It has beading and trim around the empire waist, and ruching around the neckline. It also has tiny pleats all over the front and back.

With it, I wore my agate necklace that I got at a street fair last year.

On my right hand, a silver cable bracelet and a silver/mother of pearl ring.

One my left, three silver bracelets and the matching silver/onyx ring.

I chose my Enzo Angiolini gladiators to go with this getup.

The other night, my Estee Lauder representative, Magda, emailed me. There is a new gift with purchase offer.

It came in a big Lisa Perry tote with a sunglass case. Inside, there were some products.

I got the following:
1) Resilience lift night firming face and neck cream
2) Take It Away makeup remover
3) Super Bold Volume mascara
4) A matching lipstick and gloss in a dusty rose color

You had to spend $35, so this is what I got.

Double Wear Maximum Cover makeup. It has SPF 15, and is long wearing. I like full coverage foundation with a matte finish. Since it's long wear, you have to use moisturizer under it. She also threw in a ton of samples.

I got 4 packets of Nutritious Vitality 8 overnight cream and 2 packets of Vitality 8 Radiant Detox cream. I had $20 in free Macy's cash, so this haul cost me $17. That's less than drug store makeup prices !!

Thursday's links are here!!! First, Alice at www.happinessatmidlife.com for Throwback Thursday - one of my favorites, and Moschary fits right in. Then Nicole at www.highlatitudestyle.com has Top Of The World Style. She's fairly new to me, but she always has great outfits. Lastly, Tara at www.mixmatchfashion.com has Summer Style. She's a teacher, so it's summer for her ( but not for Huntington Beach just yet). Have a great day - I'm a tad tired from the party. But we have a great lecture today - Snake Bites, Spider Bites, Marine Life Stings and Insect Stings. I can't wait!!!

Tying Ends Together

What ends, you say, my friends??? Well, tennis class will end next week. There are 6 of us (maybe 8) who want to be together next class, so after class next week we are going to celebrate while we figure it all out. Then, tonight, I have a going away party to attend. The end of someone's time here at the hospital also needs tying up. I have to go right after work, so I decided to wear something nice. Feast your eyes:

My blazer is from Love 21, my skirt is from Style and Co, and my cashmere turtle is from Neiman Marcus. The jacket is a nubby tweed with gold lurex running through.

My skirt has gold metal detail on the slash pockets.

I wore two necklaces again today. The shorter one is chocolate and white diamonds.

The longer one is Austrian crystals. I ended up un-doubling it and wearing it long flapper style.
On my right hand, my Nordstrom boulder ring and two gold bracelets.

On my left, I doubled up on Swarovski - my Nirvana ring in Black Diamond, and my Platinum bracelet.

Of course, my Jessica Simpson nude T straps with the reptile trim were the perfect match.
