Opposites Attract

My outfits of the last two days could probably not be any different. I didn't like what I wore yesterday, so this dress is going into the donate bag.

Even though it is fully lined, it kept creeping up. Yanking is not my favorite wardrobe activity. The Clio sweater, however, stays to be worn another day.

On my right arm, a silver bangle and a garnet ring from Colleen Lopez.

On my left arm, a garnet/opal bracelet that my mom gave me for my 40th, and the matching all garnet bracelet that she left me in her estate. I wore them with my pear solitaire and a ruby band.

My necklace was also a gift from my mom for my 50th. When she died, she had the exact same garnet blossom, so I gave it to my niece as a remembrance.

Onto today - a feminine, and more importantly, comfortable look. These items will not be tossed in the Great Purge of 2017. Everything uncomfortable automatically gets tossed into the donate bag.

This is a knit skirt from Poleci and an eyelash lace top from Ann Taylor.

I took a closeup of the print on the skirt - it has pink and tan, so I thought it would be a nice combination with the top, and not too much of an exact match.

Once again, I wore two necklaces that were my mom's. The shorter one is diamond and rose gold.

The longer one is actually a locket that I gave her one Mother's Day. It's also rose gold, but the stones are crystals.

I wore two INC costume bracelets that I got in Las Vegas one year - one for each arm.

And my veiney boulder ring from Nordstrom finishes me up for the day.

Spotty, Dotty and Dangly

The dangling thing happened yesterday:

This is a dress by Theory and a jacket by So. It was pretty warm, so I didn't really need the jacket, but you know how it can get in air-conditioned offices.

Here's a closeup of the scarf. I got it in Truckee, California, on the way back from a ski trip to Tahoe in 2010. It always generates comments.

Excuse the bathroom jewelry pictures, but I was off site yesterday and would have felt weird taking pictures of my hands in the middle of a meeting.

Another item that always generates a lot of comments are my Nine West multicolored T strap shoes.

Today, the spotty and the dotty. This is an Yves St Laurent blazer with Joe's jeans.

My necklace is actually a Louis Vuitton lock - It came with one of my purses.

On my right arm, another matching set - this one is white enamel and crystal, from Saks.

On my left arm, my yellow gold wedding rings, a garnet claddagh bracelet, and a ruby bracelet.

Eclipse and E Geese

I'm sure everyone is watching the eclipse and getting good pictures. So I will leave that to the professionals. But as I was running through HB Central Park this weekend, I saw my beloved Egyptian Geese. They grow so fast !!!

I also got around to getting some pictures of Pandi and Elli printed up for frames I had chosen for them.

 Here is Elli's memorial, which is my favorite picture of her.

Her collar and one of her dresses is hanging next to the picture.

I also indulged my flower fetish a bit. First, I made a new basket, using the box from the Trader Joe's sunflowers we got last week. I put in Birds of Paradise. We have a lot of them and they last forever once cut.

I got a hot pink mini-rose and put it on my mom's sewing machine. Pink was her favorite color.

And for the cedar chest, a little purple flower - I'm not sure what they are called.

Back to work today, and this is what I wore:

The black ponte pants are from Express, the pale green linen jacket is from Mossimo, and there is a Weekend Express tank underneath.

You can see the tank better in this shot of my green bead necklace. The embroidery is 3-D.

On my right arm, my Montana peridot ring and two enamel bangles.

On my left arm, my Irish claddagh weeding ring and a gold tone costume bracelet.

I Am Blossoming

Sort of. It's mostly my front and back yards. We had a five year drought here in California that pretty much ended with last winter's non-stop rain. I have always loved to have many flowers and plants around, and now they are producing like they used to pre-drought. Here is my latest creation:

Bright orange roses, African daisies, Gerbera daisies, English lavender, and basket flowers. I love how I can just walk around the yard and cut some beauties and place them around the house.

As far as what I am wearing today, it all started with this handkerchief hem dress :

Cute, but notice the bra straps. A big work no-no. Even though I wear a white exam jacket out on the floors of the hospital, I still have to walk in from the parking lot. So I  tossed on my grey origami swing jacket.

A tad frumpy, but it does the trick.

Another necklace from Paparazzi that I bought from my neighbor's daughter - she is a stay at home mom, and makes extra money this way.

On my right arm, just a sapphire/diamond band.

On my left arm, a safety pin bracelet and white gold wedding rings.

A Little Bit Country

And a little bit posh. I say this because of my jacket:

This Chanel-inspired jacket is from Silk Land. It's a little bit country because the trim is denim. Underneath, I have a crocheted sweater dress from Victoria's Secret.

Spreading my wings to remove the jacket to show you the dress. The jacket is fully lined in hot pink silk.

With this outfit, I am wearing a costume necklace with big pearls and pink crystal drops.

On my left arm, an X ring from INC and a stretchy crystal bracelet from Saks.

On my right arm, an opal/diamond ring and a gold/diamond dust bangle.

I never showed you the Ipsy bag that came last week. The theme is peace love lipstick. And below the bag is a big fluffy powder brush.

4) Josie Maran Argan Oil Vibrancy Foundation - I usually wear Chanel Les Beiges, but I tried this and it seems really nice as well.
