Soaking Up the Rays

Sadly, I no longer lie in the sun and soak it up like I did when I was younger -  you know, wrinkles and dark spots and all that stuff got in the way. But this morning, as Doc took my pictures, it seemed as though the sun was shining on me.

Okay, I realize that this is just because there was some shmear or something on the lens, but I can dream of divine intervention, can't I ?

I wore two silver herringbone necklaces with my gauzy Indian dress today.

On my right arm, a turquoise bracelet and a turquoise/ MOP ring that Luke, Ashley and Preston gave me for Christmas one year.

On my left arm, another turquoise bracelet that Doc got for me in Gorman, a town in the Cajon Pass north of LA.

Yesterday, a whole different look:

This is a top that I got at Nordstom last year - it has a surprise in the back, which I will show you in a second. the bamboo printed pants are from a garage sale or something like that.

Here's the back of the outfit - the top has mesh insets and a longer shirttale.

I wore two INC necklaces - one short, one long.

On my right arm, a giant smoky topaz that Doc calls my "old lady ring".

On my left arm, my costume turtle bracelet from EBay and my creepy green ring from Nordstrom.

A Minor Mishap

Today will be another hot and humid day, which is unusual for SoCal. It's generally beautiful and pleasant. So I wisely prepared by wearing a trusted silk dress that I have had for a long time.

On top, a cotton waterfall cardigan in a nice light weight knit.

Here's a side view, even though it's a bit hunchback looking.

I wore a KJL costume seashell on a gold neck wire to continue the beachy theme.

On my right arm, a Black Hills Gold ring and a stretchy crystal bracelet from Saks.

On my left arm, a wedding band and an INC cuff that I got in Fort Lauderdale.

So far so good. What could go wrong? Well, instead of regular hose, I wore fishnets for the coolness factor. The net rubbed my big toes like crazy in the Enzo Angiolini sandals I had on. So when I got to my office, I switched to my Born old lady slippers - blessed relief!!!!

Last night, while touching up my hair color, I decided to try out a mask that I got in my last Ipsy bag.

I look like Freddie Kreuger with it on.

But I
 must say, it seemed to do the trick. My poor old face does look a little better.

Dresses are the Bestest

So far, it has been a dress week. Yesterday, I wore a chiffon dress from Bar III that I got at Macy's in Fort Lauderdale a few years back :

 It pops over your head, is lined, and is completely comfortable.

Here's a look at the print. I always wear a bright blue cami underneath because I like the look of the lace peeking out.

I wore two necklaces - the shorter one is sapphire/diamond, and the longer one is lapis.

On my right arm, two sapphire bracelets, and a London Blue Topaz ring.

On my left arm, my yellow gold wedding set, and a sapphire bangle.

Today, another dress, but a different style. 

This is a scuba knit sheath by Taylor that I got at Neiman Marcus. It has a gold exposed zipper up the back.

Here's a closer look at the print - sort of tropical, reminding me of hibiscus flowers.

Two necklaces again - a convertible silver lacy medallion and a longer chain with crystal stations.

On my right arm, three slim silver bracelets and a tanzanite ring.

On my left arm, a diamond tennis bracelet, an eternity band, and a big ol' amethyst ring.

Cool and Comfy and Dotty

I had a different outfit picked out for today, but I made a game day decision to switch:

This dress by AB Sport was much less fussy than what I had chosen.

Less fussy = more comfy = YAY !!

I wore two necklaces, which are hard to see - a short self made lapis and onyx one, and a longer enamel blue and gold egg.

On my right arm, a crystal bracelet from J Crew, and an enamel/crystal ring from Saks.

On my left arm, my yellow gold wedding set and my Hermes CDC.

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil

I have been on a navy blue kick this week.  It started on Tuesday, with this dress by Five Twelve. It was my Fourth of July purchase from the sale at Saka.

The first appearance of the blue velvet choker that I picked up in Portland was that day.

On my right arm, a sapphire/diamond band, my mom's engagement ring, and two silver bracelets.

On my left arm, an Italian silver bracelet, a marquise solitaire and an eternity band.

Yesterday, I had the day off for some appointments. One of them was for blood donation. We took Pandi to downtown HB for brunch beforehand.

Today, I am minus one unit of blood and back to work in another navy blue dress.

It's from Bila, and has seed bead embellishment all around the neckline.

I wore my convertible necklace with the lapis pendant.

On my right arm, the same two rings as Tuesday, but with a costume silver/crystal bracelet.

On my left arm, the exact same combo as Tuesday. It was already on the dresser, so I figured it would be easy.

During the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I only got one thing - the Glo Pro Facial Stimulation device. It has to be used consistently for 30 days. I will let you know how I liked it.

Feeling Blue, but in a Good Way

If I am blue today, then it's all Calvin Klein's fault:

I am wearing a pair of his slacks, along with the top that was displayed with it at the store. I got this outfit a couple of years ago, along with the dress I wore last week. The color is called cerulean, and it must have been the color of the year for the brand.

My costume necklace from San Luis Obispo has always been my go-to for this outfit. It matches perfectly.

On my right arm, an emerald/diamond ring, a lab created emerald tennis bracelet, and a tri-color Italian gold bracelet.

On my left hand, a gold/diamond dust bracelet andmy yellow gold wedding set.

It was a pretty quiet weekend. But during my weekly run in HB Central Park, there was a Porsche club meeting.

I have never seen so many in one spot at the same time. It looked like the club members were having a great event.
