Two Little Warriors

Preston, my grandson, fought in an MMA grappling competition yesterday. He just turned 8, and has been doing this for a couple of years.

It was held at Cerritos College, and kids came from all over southern California.

Here he is, getting his competition belt tied to his gi. That's part of the ceremony.

He overpowered his first opponent easily.

He pinned the other kid, and as you can see, won his first round, when the other little boy tapped out.

The next kid, although smaller than Preston, was like greased lightning.

The other kid got one more pin, but Preston won on points. No one got a tap out.

So Preston ended up winning second place. Here he is, with his dojo mates.

And here he is, with Doc and me.

So who is the other warrior, you may ask? Well, we bought his lime green lamb for Pandi at Wal Mart. It was love at first sight.

Then as I was letting her back into the house from the backyard, Kenni squirmed in. First, he ate all of Pandi's food, then he grabbed her lambie. Even though Kenni is pushing 40 pounds, little nine pound Pandi was having none of that, and snatched her lamb back.

Here's what I wore to the MMA competition:

This is a hot pink silk tunic trimmed in sequins. It has an asymmetric hemline. I wore it with white bermuda shorts.

Just one silver herringbone chain as my accessory.

Today, for work, I am wearing a self made dress. The fabric is so pretty, so I went for a simple style. It has princess seams, and I used red, green and gold ribbon as the belt.

A sparkly red Valerie Stevens cardi topped the look.

Mt garnet druzies showed up again.

On my right arm, a ruby/diamond ring, a ruby bracelet and a garnet bracelet.

On my left arm, a diamond dust bangle and a ruby cluster cocktail ring.

Onto Monday's link!!

Have a great Monday !!!

A Friday to Forget

Today, I have to perform a very difficult electronic "Exam" for our hospital. A lot rides on the success of this test. So I can't wait for the day to be over.

But back to yesterday, and what I wore:

This is an INC mesh dress with a J Crew cardi tied at the waist. The dress used to have sleeves, but I melted one with the iron, so I cut them off and hemmed the edges, making it sleeveless.

I felt pretty 80's, but I got a ton of compliments, mostly about the color.

I wore two necklaces - the upper one is citrine/garnet and the lower one is Botswana agate.

On my right arm, a diamond bracelet and a sterling ring.

On my left arm, a leather/mother of pearl cuff and a leopard jasper ring.

Onto today, and even farther back in time to the 70s. I am wearing a Gunne Sax skirt , a Nine West sweater, and a silk bomber by Spenser Jeremy.

Just one necklace - a garnet pendant.

On my left arm, a diamond dust bangle and a garnet/diamond ring.

On my right arm, a ruby cluster cocktail ring, a ruby bracelet, and a garnet bracelet.

We had a combo going away/ birthday party yesterday.

Check out these donuts - they were huge and crazy good.

Just Crazy, That's My Answer

I have two crazy things for you today. The first is the skirt I wore yesterday, from Sharagano.

On top, I have a cotton T from One World that has a chiffon overlay.

Check out the pattern on the skirt and these shoes. One of my friends had to wear them for a wedding and hated them, so they became mine. I like them.

My necklace is a convertible Joan Rivers piece with interchangeable colors, on a neck wire.

On my left arm, an enamel bangle and a chalcedony ring.

On my right arm, a blue topaz/amethyst ring, a gold bracelet, and a coral bracelet from Maui Divers in Honolulu.

Today, less crazy in the outfit, more crazy in my posing. You'll see.

This is a no name dress that I got at a Macy's clearance center almost a year ago, but never wore. Here you go.

The black satin swing jacket is from Fire Los Angeles.

This velvet lariat is one of the pieces I picked up in Portland last week.

On my left arm, a sapphire/diamond ring and two diamond tennis bracelets.

On my right arm, another sapphire/diamond ring, a tanzanite bracelet and a silver bracelet.

Now for the crazy. This is just me - I didn't try to look this stupid on purpose.

Now let's link!!! Or I will attack!!

Back to the Grind, and What I Bought in Portland

Today, I am back to work. This is what I am wearing:

This is a vintage outfit ( I know, because I bought all this stuff YEARS ago) comprised of a Hillard and Hanson sweater and a Campus Casuals silk pleated midi skirt.

On my left arm, my yellow gold wedding set, a gold bracelet, and a scarab bracelet.

On my right arm, a copper souvenir cuff and my creepy green Nordstrom ring.

Another weird resin necklace completes the look for me.

Speaking of Nordstrom and souvenirs, would you like to see what I bought in Portland?  I have a VISA card that gives you triple points plus a 75% bonus when you redeem the points. I have been putting everything on the card and then paying it off when the statement comes, so I had $700 to split between me and Doc. He bought books. I didn't buy much - I only spent some of it. But they did have a Nordstrom that was sort of a clearance center, and I got some stuff there.

I got this costume necklace with a ring collar and long chains with beads.

Then I got these two lariat necklaces - the black one is velvet and the grey one is suede.

Then I got a blue velvet choker and some crystal earrings

And of course, some hippie style slides from Muk Luks. You will note that they are covered in crystals - after all, this is my blingy type of style.

This picture shows a sticker, a magnet, and a piece of palo santo yerba mate wood for home purification.

The magnet is so cute!!! We have always called our chihuahuas chirahnas because of the way they gobble their food.

And finally, a Coach coin purse.

So that's it.  Let's get back to linking!!
