I Got Sunshine On a Cloudy Day

Finally !!!! We are expecting almost a week of beautiful sunshine!!! That will be great, because the plants and lawn have greened up and now need some rays to flourish. Also, my car can finally make a trip to the car wash. But let me show you all what I wore for the last two days. On Thursday morning:

This is a Jones New York navy wool dress. I love it - it's so elegant. And it gave me another opportunity to wear my INC navy suede lace up pumps.

On top, the reason why I bought the dress - my Bob Mackie Wearable Art ivory jacket with the navy and gold trim.

Here's a better look at the jacket, pre-dress.

With the outfit, I wore my Joan Rivers statement necklace. It always gets comments.

On my right arm, a sapphire/diamond ring and a sapphire bracelet.

On my left arm, my yellow gold wedding set and another sapphire bracelet.

That was in the morning. I had a night time meeting, so I came home around 3 and worked out for an hour before getting dressed.

I wore a Saks Fifth Avenue cashmere dress with a vintage Patra jacket on top and my grey JCP boots.

I wore two necklaces - the shorter one is a cable with a hematite pendant, and the longer one is a silver filigree heart.

Here's a better look at the rhinestone trim on the jacket. It goes all the way around the waist.

It was back to work again this morning, so this is what I wore:

This is a perforated pleather skirt that I got in Las Vegas, and a Merona tweed top with black pleather piping. I added my Versace belt and my BCBG black suede boots, which are finally back from shoe repair, and look brand new.

I have only had them for a year or so, so I wanted to get at least a couple more years out of them.

On top, my id Sport deep red leather jacket.

I wore my mom's convertible Joan Rivers necklace with the red crystal. It is interchangeable, and there are 12 choices of color.

On my right arm, a ruby/diamond ring and a stretchy crystal bracelet from Saks.

On my left arm, my INC leather cuff and a garnet ring.

I also got my January Ipsy bag yesterday as well. The theme was something about urban. Sorry, I didn't look that closely before I tossed the card into the recycle bin.

Here's what I got:
1) Smashbox Camera Ready primer
2) Manna Kandar blush
3) Mint Pear Collagen serum
4) Temptu primer
5) It cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Illuminator.

Let's Get Toasty

We are having an incredible winter here in SoCal. It has been raining almost non-stop, after 5 years of drought. So I naturally had a hard time remembering what outfits are good for the rain. My goal for this rainy week is to just stay warm and keep toasty. On Tuesday:

I layered it up !!! I am wearing Cache pants, which are grey wool with a tan and grey feather pattern, a Joseph A turtleneck, and a Donna Karan gray sweater that has a tiny blue metallic thread through it.

On top of all that, I added a Style and Co ruffle front cardigan.

I wore a costume lariat by Greenbeads by Emily and Ashley, from Neiman Marcus.

Today, the rain continues, so I continue layering. This is a black V neck sweater with gold lurex, made by Hillard and Hanson. My knit skirt is from Susan Lawrence.

On top, a heavy jersey warmup jacket from Draper's and Damon's, which I believe is a local brand. I love the quality of their pieces.

The black jacket is embellished with tan topstitching and little bronze bars on the front panels.

I split my Joan Rivers convertible necklace set up so I could wear both pieces with different charms.

The gold neck wire has a large faux pearl teardrop. The opera length pearl strand has two black and gold enamel hearts connected to it. The finish on the pearls is peeling off, so I need to glue the end pieces to another strand of faux pearls.

It is forecasted to stop raining by Friday afternoon, and then it will be sunny for several days. I am definitely getting my car washed - she is filthy, especially her rims.

Two Gray Days

I'm talking about Friday and today. We did have some beautiful sunshine yesterday, but I had a stomach bug. I felt awful all day long, and I'm just now feeling a bit better, although I got a stomach ache after lunch. Anyway, in order to commemorate the weather, I stuck with a gray-ish theme for my outfits. First, last Friday:

It all started with this Banana Republic dress. It has a printed panel down the back, and black panels down the sides and mid back. I wore my black Escada blazer on top, and gray hose.

I wore two necklaces - the shorter one is Ann Taylor, a souvenir from Orlando.

The longer one is INC and I got it here in Huntington Beach.

On my arms, two INC bracelets from Macy's on the Las Vegas Strip. I read that this would be one of the stores that is closing, and that makes me sad, since that store is one of the best Macy's I have ever been to. But it is a big property, so maybe they will relocate off the Strip in a less expensive location.

The costume ring above is from H&M, also in Las Vegas.

Then the rain started again during the night, just in time for my huge 7 minute commute to work.
This is what I wore today:

This fuzzy knit dress is from a brand called Mismash. It was designed in Barcelona, and made of polyester, acrylic and elastane. It is a mixed print, primarily red, black, and gray.

I wore my gray JC Penney suede boots with it. I also wore my buffalo turquoise and smoky topaz statement necklace from EBay.

On my right arm, my garnet/opal 40th birthday bracelet and a fire opal ring.

On my left arm, the companion garnet bracelet, a ruby/diamond band and a round solitaire.

I carried my red Louis Vuitton purse - it seems as though I haven't taken a picture of it, but here it is in the LV store window, in Las Vegas (of all places !!!)

And that's about all, except for a ton of links:

See you all soon !!!

Now I Just Need a Crown

The last two days have had my inner princess coming out. I have worn elaborate royal prints both days. First, on Wednesday:

I forgot to look at the label in the sweater, but I got it at Macy's. The skirt is Ralph Lauren. Since it was raining again, I wore Mossimo suede boots. My Ann Taylor velvet belt provided some shape.

The necklace is actually two strands that I wound around my gold lurex turtleneck. This wasn't very comfy, so don't try this at home.

On my right arm, a stretchy crystal bracelet from Saks and a smoky topaz/diamond ring.

On my left arm, another huge smoky topaz ring and my Hermes CDC bracelet.

Last night, Doc brought home some very pretty roses.

Then today, I went with a printed skirt by Versace.

The vintage style embroidered and beaded sweater is from WDNY. Here's a better look at it.

My matte gold tone necklace is from Stein Mart. There was some shocking news about the store yesterday. One employee's husband killed two of her co-workers at a NY Eve party.  Sad.

On my right arm, two gold bracelets, and two matching rings, one in garnet and one in citrine.

On my left arm, my beaded cuff from Chakra Shack in Laguna Beach.

And that's about all for today, so we'll get linking!!
