Las Vegas Fashion

Of course I did a bit of shopping while I was in Vegas . But I did even more window shopping.  I was  specifically looking at outfits that I could recreate with things that I already have. First up, a new way to use my cold shoulder old lady pants suit, by combining the top with a solid brown skirt. But I will wear gold jewelry since I prefer that with brown.

Next up, a simple but effective look. A black pencil skirt with a black jeweled cardigan worn as a top.

Then we have a red leather pencil skirt with a black top. I don't have one with bell sleeves but I do have one with lacy sleeves. And my Versace belt is the same one as the model. I will wear black booties and gold jewelry.

Next we have a costume that will be a snap to imitate. This will be done with my Calvin Klein jumpsuit, my Neiman Marcus black leather motorcycle jacket and my WHBM hematite belt.

Surprise!!! More black!! A classic combo of slacks, a turtle neck sweater and my black lace bomber jacket.

Even though I don't wear jeans too often, I liked the combo of them with a gold lurex turtle neck and a faux fur chubby coat. I especially like the touch of elegance that the T strap shoes add.

The next outfit is one where I have the exact same jacket, only in a tan to brown ombré combo. So I will try it with both tan and brown bottoms and see which version I prefer.

This next outfit is also on the casual side. It's a grey waterfall cardi with a black T and grey tweed joggers. I have items which are very similar to all three things.

A double trouble window!!! On the left, a black skirt, a red tunic and a grey cable scarf. On the right, a black and white plaid skirt (the one I have is a pencil style), a black turtle neck and a red scarf.

Here's a cute and easy look - black leggings, an ivory lace trimmed tunic, and a long black cardi. I love the one in the picture - it has leather trim down the front and gold buttons. I'll have to look at my choices for the cardi, but the other two items are no brainers.

Another double outfit - on the left, an ivory pencil with a black turtle, and on the right, black leggings, an ivory silk button down, and a knit vest.

And finally, a black swing dress ( mine is satin) and an ivory skirt, a black turtle, and a black/gold scarf.

Whoops one more !! This one I cannot recreate, because I don't have a plaid cape. I just liked it.

So what did I wear for my one day of actual work in the last two weeks?

The new Calvin Klein dress that I picked up in Las Vegas !!! I wore it with my BCBG boots, because it rained cats and dogs on Sunday and Monday - Hooray!!!

I topped it with my Ann Taylor zip front blazer/

Here's a better look at the top of the dress - it has black studs where the black meets the tan.

I put my black and gold interchangeable Joan Rivers enamel charms on a long gold rope, and wore a gold herringbone up above.

I also got this new belt at White House Black Market in Las Vegas. I always seem to buy belts at WHBM.

My new-ish Louis Vuitton was still in the windows at their shop in the Crystal Shoppes. it's the red one.

And off I go !!

Leaving Las Vegas

This year is the 50th anniversary of Caesar's Palace. In the lobby they have a chariot erected for you to pose in if you want. I wanted.

We wanted to eat at Gordon Ramsay's pub, but we had a half hour before they opened, so we went out front to the portico, and proceeded to pose there as well.

We went back inside and Doc stood in front of the goddesses.

So, of course, I stood in front of the gods.

Then we passed the Nike store, and I joined up with my long lost football team from high school.

Across the plaza in the center is a giant circular aquarium. It's salt water, and the fish were cool.

There was a beautiful leopard shark.

This ray had his portrait marrred by the reflection from the Nike store sign on the glass.

But there was a bashful one laying down on the gravel bottom, chillin'.

After that, we ate at Gordon Ramsay's. It was delicious, and no more expensive than anywhere else. We had a giant wedge salad and bangers and mash. Really yummy. Doc said that he obviously knows how to prepare food.

Then Doc went to his last class, and I started out for a little walk.

Another beautiful day in the neighborhood. It was low 80s all week.

The lobby of the Palazzo. It is attached to the Venetian by the Grand Canal Shoppes.

A view of the ceiling in the foyer.

At the end of the lobby is a giant red Love Sign.Lots of ladies wanted to pose in the O.

As you ride up the escalators, you pass a three story waterfall. After walking through the Shoppes, I arrived at the Grand Canal. There are gondolas for hire.

I got to St Mark's Square just in time for the medieval arts show. The introduction was done by a man on stilts, who then acted as a puppeteer for the two jesters.

The two jesters escaped with the help of a white marble statue who had come to life.

They were accompanied by piano and violin.

There were two operetta singers, one male and one female.

Then one jester juggled as she did splits and squats and used several tennis balls at once (about 12).

The other jester was a contortionist.

I had to go back to Caesar's at this point, because Doc's class was ending and he asked if I could take a couple of pictures.

It was a course on Advanced Skin Repair and Suturing. The physicians all got a few pig legs.

Then the professors described the incisions to be made, and everyone marked their leg. They practiced different types of incisions, different depths and different techniques.

Everyone cleaned up their own tray and disposed of their sharps.

A success !!! Now he can feel confident if he ever has to sew me up for any reason. Let's ALL hope that doesn't happen.
