My Garden Window Is Not The Garden of Eden

I have a garden window in my kitchen, and I have a bunch of bunny statues and tsotchkes in there. Yesterday, some "joker" rearranged all my bunnies.

They are all in a conga line, except for the hare in the background. Doc said the hare didn't want to play, he's just a voyeur.

My, it must be nice to have the time to do this. I must confess, I used to have a CFO who had all these sheep statues, and I rearranged his sheep a number of times.

Apart from these shenanigans, what am I wearing today?

This is a Saks Fifth Avenue Black dress that I got in Orlando one time at the outlet mall there.

With it, I wore the necklace and earring set that I got at the Taste of Charlotte.

On my right arm, my veiny boulder ring from Nordstrom and a leather/crystal cuff that I got in Baltimore.

On my left arm, my Swarovski Nirvana, and the matching Infinity cuff. They match the necklace exactly.

Isaac Newton - Look Out !!

Yesterday, Doc made himself a slingshot that can shoot arrows, so we had to try it out !!!

Doc and Elli discussed the logistics of the shooting range.

Elli surveyed the land for obstructions and distance.

Here is the shooting range. It's located behind the Target near our house.

Doc made the part that holds the arrow on the slingshot. He used PVC pipe.

He loaded it up.

Then he drew back and aimed.

The Great White Hunter. Also the Little Black Chihuahua.

Onto me. What am I wearing today?

This ivory knit dress is made by Magaschoni. The tweed jacket is by Liz Claiborne.

I doubled up on Joan Rivers convertible necklaces again. This time, I went with a coral cabochon and a pink hued pearl for the interchangeable gemstones. You can also see the trim on the jacket here.

On my right arm, a crystal/bead bracelet from Neiman Marcus, and a South Sea pearl ring.

On my left arm, my yellow gold wedding set, an opal bracelet, and a coral bracelet from Maui Divers.

Little Miss Mango

I am wearing two old items in a new way today. One is a knit peasant style top made by Element 6. I usually wear it with a white bottom. But today, I combined it with a Jones New York skirt in........
MANGO !!!

I like this bright combo, especially for summer. You can see the print on the top in the necklace shot below - it's red, orange, hot pink and white.

And the two necklaces - the shorter one is costume, and the longer one is a gold herringbone with a costume pendant that was part of one of my Mom's Joan Rivers pieces.

On my right arm, a diamond anniversary type ring, a gold bracelet, and a lab created emerald tennis bracelet.

On my left arm, my yellow gold wedding set and two gold bracelets.

And let's go for the weekend!!! I am ready - more than ready, actually. But first, let's link - www.poshclassymom.com, www.fashionshouldbefun.com, www.stylelixir.com, www.colorandgrace.com, www.theclosetbychristie.com, and www.stylediarybyosy.com.

An Aloha from the Past

It's really hot here in SoCal again. I'm fortunate that I work in an air-conditioned environment, but I do have to go outside occasionally. And since we live at the beach, we only need AC about twice a year, so we don't have it at home. Anyway, all this boils down to the fact that I needed a cool and comfy look for today.

I got this embellished navy shift dress in Hawaii at some point in the distant past.  It is made of cotton with bugle bead trim at the notched neckline and at the hem. It's just as comfy as a muumuu.

Here's a look at the trim, and at my two necklaces. The shorter one is lapis and the longer one is blue topaz.

On my left arm, my sapphire/diamond band, a round solitaire, a sapphire tennis bracelet, and a silver bracelet.

On my right arm, a London Blue Topaz ring,  a silver mesh bracelet with blue topaz, and a silver bracelet made of rings.

Doc brought me roses yesterday. I brought him chocolate chip cookies. See Elli lurking in the bottom left with her little red heart covered dress?

Another view of the roses.

Today, along with my regular Thursday links , www.highlatitudestyle.com and www.happinessatmidlife.com, we have two new ones : www.mixmatchfashion.com and www.shelbeeontheedge.com

Have a great day, and if you are in SoCal, stay cool out there!!!

Check Me Out !!!

Today, I am wearing a gingham checked dress :

This dress is part of a set that someone gave me. The other part is a short sleeved blazer type jacket made of the same fabric. I hated it together - it was WWWWAAAAYYY too much. The fabric is silk and has a nice sheen to it. The dress has spaghetti straps and an empire waistline. I am wearing a black slubbed knit vest over the dress for work. I also added my Talbott's black velvet belt to give it some shape, because it was really baggy.

Two Joan Rivers convertible necklaces today - both were my mom's. She loved Joan Rivers costume jewelry from QVC. You can interchange the stone color on both, and both have a multitude of choices.

On my right arm, only my white enamel / crystal ring from Saks.

On my left arm, my yellow gold wedding set and the matching enamel bangle.

So yesterday, I got the new vanity light in the bathroom installed. It came from Euro Lighting.
It has inner cylinders wrapped with wire, then an outer clear cylinder. It uses tiny halogen bulbs. I love it. I had the HEAVY octagonal glass mirror from my mom's house hung below.

Here's how it looks when it is not lit up. The bulbs make it really bright. I can actually see when I put on my makeup.

Here's a closeup of one of the lamps.

And that's it for today !!! I have all my usual Wednesday links: www.shoppingmycloset.com, www.poshclassymom.com, www.sydneyfashionhhunter.com,www.pastriespumpsandpi.blogspot.com, and www.thepleatedpoppy.com.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!!!

Let's Catch Up on My Clothes

We'll start with my outfit from yesterday:

I wasn't crazy about this get up. It looks okay in these pictures, but it was really uncomfortable. The waist of the Clio skirt was too big, so it bunched up between the belt and the skirt in the back. The lime sequined tank is by INC, and the floral blouse is by Worthington.

I wore three necklaces - two are amethyst pendants, and the one you can't see is emerald/diamond.

On my right arm, my Montana peridot ring, an amethyst tennis bracelet, and a multicolored gem tennis bracelet.

On my left arm, my yellow gold wedding set, and two jade bracelets - one pale green and one lavender.

Well, I probably won't repeat this uncomfy outfit. But it did prompt me to go for an outfit of complete comfort today.

This outfit is white pants of unknown provenance, but they are very old. The hot pink tunic is from a brand called T . I don't know where I got it, but it was at a mall store somewhere.

Here is a better look at the trim on the hem of the tunic.

Once again, the triad of necklaces. The longest one is herringbone liquid silver, the middle one is a tanzanite pendant, and the shortest one is mother of pearl.

On my right arm, a silver bracelet with pink mother of pearl, and a pink tourmaline ring.

On my left arm, my Swarovski Trema ring, a silver bracelet, and a diamond tennis braclet set in white gold.
