Let's Go Rummaging !!!

I got too busy to post yesterday, but this is what I wore:

This is a Saks Fifth Avenue Black dress, worn with Isaac Mizrahi shoes.

I wore two necklaces - the shorter one is amethyst, and the longer one is a heart shaped diamond pendant. Both are hanging from gold chains. Both were from my mom's estate.

On my right arm, a garnet ring, and an amethyst tennis bracelet.

On my left arm, my Swarovksi Trema ring, and two gold bracelets.

This morning, the local Catholic church, St Vincent de Paul, had their annual rummage sale. Last year's sale was so slim in the pickens that I had a hard time finding a couple of things to buy. I try to support any reasonable fund raising endeavors. Anyway, this year, it was great !!! First, I headed back to the Boutique area, where the higher end items are. I found two treasures:

A gorgeous white woven ottoman blazer from St John. It had the coolest gold tone details:

There were metal tips on the pocket edges.

They were also on the lapel tips, and the zipper pull was heavy and ornate. The closest jacket I could find on their website retails for $1795. I paid $40.

Then, I found a heavy weight jersey dress by White House Black Market. It has tiers that are connected with fine faggoting, a square neckline, and a flounce at the hem.

The closest dress I could find on thier website was $160, and I paid $5.75.

Then I went into the main hall. I got a couple of Tony Horton workout tapes. I also got several items of clothing. I haven't gone on a major shop for a couple of months, because I was helping with my mom. Anyway, this is what I found:. I paid $10.75 for all this stuff. I have the website prices next to the description.

This is a Damon and Drapers jacket of heavy weight jersey with buttons on both sides, so that it is reversible. Most of their jackets of this type of fabric cost about $80.

This next top is 100% silk, and has a Casual Corner label. They were around in the 70s and 80s.

It has embellished details. I found one on Ebay for $15.

This next top is by Serena Williams. I believe she markets through Home Shopping Network.

It's a very heavy weight jersey and it has tiny nailhead detail. On the website, it retails for $70.

Then I found a purple and black brocade skirt. It is fully lined. I would estimate it to be of about Banana Republic quality. I am guessing that the retail price would be similar, so $100.

Speaking of Banana Republic, I found this 100% cotton crew neck sweater. A similar one on their website costs around $68.

I found another Banana Republic cardigan, this time embellished with lace bands.

It seems like the similar ones on their website cost $128.

And finally, a cardigan from Charter Club, a Macy's brand. They retail for $39.99.

So after the rummage sale, I went for a run through Huntington Beach Central Park. I saw my new Egyptian Goose flock. The top picture is from May 22, and the bottom one from today, June 25.

They are getting so big!!! Now we have at least 8 of them in the park.

Last weekend, Annie kept stealing Elli's bowl and running around with it in her mouth. So we got her one of her own, only in a bigger size more appropriate for a German Shepherd Dog.

And that's all!!!

Have a great weekend, and I'll see you all on Monday!!!

OOOOUUUUCCCCHHHHH !!!!!!

So this happened yesterday:

I had 4 teeth extracted - 2 wisdom teeth, and one cracked tooth next to a crown that was also cracking from the stress. It hurt and it bled a lot, but at least I have great insurance. So on a scale of 1 to 10, just how sad and miserable do I look? I am giving it a 50. Antibiotics and Ibuprofin on board.

But, today is another day. I just kicked back and read last night. Elli hung right by my side, comforting me.This is what I wore to work today:

See, I look back to baseline already. This shift dress is made by Bar III, and I got it at Macy's in Fort Lauderdale a couple of years ago.

I wore two necklaces with it - the shorter one is lapis and gold, handmade by yours truly, and the longer on is sapphire and diamond.

On my left arm, my yellow gold wedding set, and two gold/sapphire bracelets.

On my right arm, two more sapphire bracelets, and a diamond/sapphire ring.

And that's about it for today. I am keeping the rest of my body parts for now.

Summertime is Definitely Here

Well, as I told you, we are having a heat wave. Yesterday, it was 95 degrees here in HB. So I got absolutely no exercise until about 8 PM, when I walked the dogs. Before that, I did some errands. I got Elli some Blue Buffalo dog food, because that's what Annie eats, and Elli kept stealing from Annie's bowl.

Now she has her own. Then I went to Hobby Lobby (that place is dangerous) and got only what I was looking for, except for this one item.

It's a crocodile textured small footlocker that I needed to keep some stuff in. The way I have those things stored is so inconvenient that I tend not to use the things, since it's too much trouble. We'll see if this solves that laziness issue.

The fold top desk that we moved to our house had a keyhole, but no key. So I got a replacement.

I super glued it in the hole. Doc didn't really understand why I wanted to do that, but I like how it looks.

Then I went to Home Depot. We are getting the master bathroom repainted, and I want to replace the vanity light. Here's what I saw.

I like this one, but I don't love it.

These two are the same, only in different finishes. I have the bottom one in the guest bath, but I would need nickel for the master. They had a lot of this type of design, but I don't want the same fixture in both bathrooms. Too boring.

This one (in the middle) is the one I like the best so far. I still need to go to Lowe's to look before I make my decision.

Yesterday at work, we celebrated a co-worker's birthday. We had a taco bar.

The left Crock Pot has pork, and the right one has chicken. I was in charge of the beans and the tortillas.

There were two desserts - on the left are toffee brownies, and on the right is a jello/pineapple dish. It was good - it was pink inside, but tasted like pineapple.

So it's considerably cooler today. This is what I wore:

This satin botanical print dress is by BB Dakota. I have the same style, but in a totally different print. I always wear a tank top under it, because the neckline is too low for work.

On my right arm, my creepy green ring from Nordstrom, and two gold bracelets, one with peridots.

On my left arm, my yellow gold wedding set, and two more gold bracelets, one with amethysts, and one with multicolored gemstones.

I doubled up on necklaces, one of each predominant color in the dress.

And I finished the outfit off with my green witch shoes.
