I have been spending most of my time with my mom, since she is on hospice. But there is very little to do at this point. We visited her on Saturday, and she didn't wake up all afternoon. So I spent Sunday catching up on neglected chores.
But first, what did I wear on Friday ???
Black pants that are older than the hills, and a Joseph A sweater. I wore my Vince Camuto black patent sandals.
I wore two necklaces. The shorter one is Joan Rivers, and the center stone is interchangeable. The longer one is an Italian coin.
On Friday, my Ipsy bag came. This is what was inside.
1) Vasanti Brighten Up Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator
2) Pacifica Natural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow Trio
3) Smashbox X Rated mascara
4) London Gel Lipliner
5) Vera Mona blending brush for eyeshadow
So after thoroughly washing and polishing my Cadillac CTS, I solved one of Doc's problems. He spreads the junk from his pockets all over the bedroom, cluttering it up. So I got him a small bedside stand to keep it all in.
It has one wooden drawer and two baskets lined in fabric.
For the top, I got some mesh boxes to keep stuff like keys and pens in.
Then I put it together and set it up for him.
We have a Money Tree, and she got too big for her pot. So I got her a new one and a shiny black bucket to keep it in.
Now she has room to get even bigger. She started out as a little 2" sapling.
I also put together some of the picture frames we have gotten to display photos of our grandkids. I put them on the bookcase where Miss Money Tree used to live before she got huge.
And finally, a little chihuahua wrangling. Elli always tries to stick her nose out the front door whenever we are out there. Then when we open the door, she gets bonked in the head. So Doc asked me to put a sign outside to remind us to open the door slowly.
We used one of Kenni's signs. It has the advantage of being big and yellow.
See her there, peeking out the door? That's where she stands to get bonked in the head.
And that's all, except for a couple of links. Sheree at www.poshclassymom.com has Weekend Wear, and Dawn Lucy from www.fashionshouldbefun.com has Fun Fashion Friday. Lastly, Lauren at www.stylelixir.com has Fab Friday.
Have a good weekend, and I'll see you next week.!!!

My Tribute to Prince
Today, I am wearing a paisley dress that is a tribute to the late Prince and his astounding talent:
The tunic/dress is from Bisou Bisou, and the knit leggings are from Style and Company. They have gold studs at the ankles. I am wearing my black suede pumps with the organza rose from Sesto Meucci.
I am also wearing my black coral necklace. It was handmade for me from coral harvested in the Caribbean Sea in the 80s.
On my right arm, a Joan Rivers egg bracelet, an Amrita Singh double stone ring, and a chalcedony ring that I got in Las Vegas a few years ago.
On my left arm, a gold/amethyst bracelet, and my creepy green ring from Nordstrom.
Today, I am joining my regular Thursday blogging buddies. First, Alice has Throwback Thursday over at www.happinessatmidlife.com, and Nicole at www.highlatitudestyle.com has Top Of The World Style.
Have a great Thursday ( it's payday, YAY !!)

How Tan I Am !!!
This time, it's my outfit that's tan. I learned the dangers of tan skin the hard way, living in California all my life and now developing wrinkles and spots. Sigh. Back to the outfit:
These are some ancient no-name slacks, combined with an Ann Taylor cardigan. I doubled up on necklaces:
The shorter one is also Ann Taylor, and the longer one is INC. On my right arm,
my Swarovski Nirvana in Black Diamond and a tri-color gold bracelet from my mom. On my left arm,
a stretchy costume cuff from INC and my yellow gold wedding rings.
I wore my Dolce Vita cognac sandals as a finishing touch.
Enough about me. My May Birchbox came in the mail last night!!! Looky looky.
From top to bottom:
1) Kopari Coconut Crush Scrub - for exfoliation and hydration
2) Jouer Long Wear Lip Creme Liquid Lipstick in Lychee - wearing it today. Lovely color.
3) Vera Bradley Fragrances in Cotton Flower - the description sounds wonderful
4) Coola - SPF 30 Organic Makeup Setting Spray -tried it today. It works!!! At noon, my makeup is still in place.
5) Obliphica Professional Seaberry Hair Serum - I gave this to a friend, because it's for medium to coarse hair. My hair is fine, fluffy and curly.
Four links for a Wednesday, as always!! Liz at www.shoppingmycloset.com has Style Me Wednesday, and www.sydneyfashionhunter.com has her weekly get together. Then, Tameka has What I Wore Wednesday over at www.pastriespumpsandpi.blogspot.com, while Lindsey has What I Wore at www.thepleatedpoppy.com.
Have a great day, and see you all soon!!!

Hail Caesar !!!
I don't know why (maybe because he was Italian) but anything Versace reminds me of the Roman Emperors and all that hullabaloo. So today's outfit has me yelling Ciao.
The pleated silk skirt is from our paisano Versace, and the knit top is from Alice and Olivia.
I topped this outfit with my favorite pearlized gold leather jacket from C Concept.
The top has quilted leather cuffs with working gold zippers, and leather epaulaets. It also has an exposed gold zipper up the back.
On my left arm, a stretchy gold cuff from INC, and my yellow gold wedding rings.
The necklace is from Joan Rivers, and it's very pretty. The pendant comes off. I need to get a better picture of it at some point in the future.
I wound up this look with my favorite black patent sandals with the gold studs by Boutique 9.
Two links today. First, Jess at www.elegantlydressedandstylish.com has Turning Heads Tuesday, and then Rachel at www.garaytreasures.com has Bloggers Who Have Inspired Me.
Have a good day, and thanks for dropping by!!!

I am the Queen of the Jungle !!!
I'm usually a pretty pretty princess, but today I have taken a step up because of my jungle themed print dress from eci.
I would never think of combining lavender and black, but it sure works on this dress. Every time I wear it, I get a ton of compliments/comments, and today was no exception. There's a little something for everyone in the print - flowers, gold chains, geometric patterns, etc.
You can see all the colors of the dress in this shot of my necklace, which is doing it's best to try and camouflage itself.
This three strand lavender number is from Joan Rivers. The lavender continues on my right arm
I have two amethyst bracelets and an amethyst ring that Doc had made for me a long time ago.
On my left hand, my yellow gold wedding set and a stretchy crystal bracelet from Saks.
And that's all for today, except for some links. Ana Luiza at www.northwestblonde.com has Start The Week Stylish, and Rachelle at www.pinksole.com has How I Spring. Then, Deb has Classy Monday at www.elegantlyfashionable.com and Cherie at www.stylenudge.com has Shoe and Tell.
Have a great day, and I hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day !!!!

The Official Royal Portrait
We are getting some much needed rain today. I took the opportunity to wear my BCBG boots, along with one of my favorite items, this pearlized gold leather skirt.
On top, I have a black sweater with a gold foil design in a sort of abstract animal print. I wore a matte gold necklace with black cabochon stones.
On my right arm, a costume gold bangle watch by Vernier, and a smoky topaz ring.
On my left arm, my yellow gold wedding set and a black/gold seed bead cuff that I got at the Chakra Shack in Laguna Beach.
Yesterday, Elli had her shift as spokesmodel for Beach Medical. Her BFF Evelyn, was in charge of the chihuahua wrangling for the day.
She took Elli out for a walk, and snapped a couple of beautiful portraits that are going to be Elli's official thumbnail for dating sites like Chi Harmony.
Being a model is hard work, and Elli comes home frisky, but then exhaustion catches up with her the next day. I have photographic evidence.
Onto today's links. First, Christie at www.theclosetbychristie.com has Friday Favorites. Then, Sheree from www.poshclassymom.com has Weekend Wear. And finally, Dawn Lucy has Fun Fashion Friday over at www.fashionshouldbefun.com
Have a good weekend, and see everyone later !!

Today is Elli's Special Day
I'm sure that everyone knows that today is Cinco de Mayo. Since Elli is a chihuahua, and therefore Mexican, today is her day to celebrate and drink tequila out of her bowl with los hombres. Unfortunately, today is also her day to work as spokesmodel for Beach Medical. We will have to postpone the fiesta.
What am I wearing today?
This animal print dress is of unknown provenance. I am wearing it with my BCBG black suede boots. This may be their last showing of the year, because it's May in So Cal. But today is rainy and gloomy.
I always wear my black plastic waterfall necklace with this dress.
On my right hand, a ruby and diamond ring that my mom gave me.
On my left hand, my yellow gold wedding set.
I didn't have time to post yesterday, since I was caring for my mom, but this is what I wore.
This rust colored polyester dress is by a brand called Atmosphere. It has a flyaway detail at the waist and a high-low hem. On top, I have an INC bolero with tan stones for trim. I am wearing my Nine West orange and brown shoes.
Lots of links today - Nicole at www.highlatitudestyle.com has Top of the World Style, and then Alice at www.happinessatmidlife.com has Throwback Thursday. Moving back to Wednesday links, Liz at www.shoppingmycloset.com has Style Me Wednesday, www.sydneyfashionhunter.com has her weekly linkup, and Tameka at www.pastriespumpsandpi.blogspot.com has Who's Wearing What Wednesday.
Have a good day and Andele Arriba!!!!
