Happy President's Day - This Means No Bills in the Mail !!!!

Well, first let's get the pedometer tallies out of the way.

So far, so good !!! On Saturday, we went down to see my mom before I met my friends at Odysseo by Cavalia. We ate at Pinoy once again.

Of course, delicious ribs adobo.

Then, the chopped pork that Doc loves.

And here's the rest - salt shrimp, pancit and corned beef. Yummy.

Then we went up to Irvine, where Doc dropped me off for the show. Here's what I wore:

A long burgundy lace skirt by Antthony Designs, a velour tank with ivory lace trim, and a red velvet Victorian style jacket by SO.

This ring is new - it's a birthday gift . I will show you a better picture the next time I wear it. The garnet/opal bracelet is also a birthday gift, my 40th from my mom.

I wore a buffalo turquoise and smoky topaz statement necklace from Ebay.

I finished it off with boots by Chinese Laundry. I had originally chosen another pair, but since the show was held in a field, I figured that wedges were better than heels.

Here is the big white tent and the big mural leading into the venue.

The show was absolutely wonderful!!! We all loved it. I highly recommend. No pictures, because you aren't allowed to snap pix inside.

Sunday was Valentine's Day, of course. We are always low key, but I did get this for Doc.

The volunteers at our hospital were selling cookies for $2. They personalized them.

Here's Doc holding his cookie. He said it was good.

Of course, he got me a monkey themed card. When the shoe fits.....

He did, however, make me 4 years younger, but that's okay by me. It was one of those giant cards.

So I didn't get a chance to make any wishes for birthday gifts, because I have been helping my mom a lot. So everyone got me gift cards. I used my Neiman Marcus card right away. Duh.

I got a Greenbeads by Elizabeth and Ashley long goldtone lariat necklace. I love it - very heavy weight.

So that's about it, except for today's outfit. And away we go !!!

I am wearing a silk dress by BCBG Max Azria. I topped it with a lurex black/navy tweed jacket.

On my left arm, two Austrian crystal bracelets, a diamond/sapphire ring, and a pear solitaire.

On my right arm, two more Austrian crystal bracelets, and a sapphire ring.

Since today's magical color is gray, my gray Tahari maryjanes, and gray tights.

If It's Friday, Then I Am Happy

The weekend is upon us, soon!!!! Yay!!! To celebrate, I wore the new Calvin Klein dress that I got with a gift card from my birthday spoils.

This is a blue and grey A Line dress made of what is now called scuba, but in the 70s, it was called double knit. Either way, it's very comfy and pretty and I can throw it in the washer. With it, I wore two turquoise necklaces (faux) that I got in Las Vegas.

On my right arm, a stretchy real turquoise bracelet and an enamel ring.

On my left arm, my yellow gold wedding set and another enamel cuff.

And the pedometer reading from yesterday:

Last night, Preston sent me the cutest Valentine.

Such a handsome boy!!!! Also last night, my Ipsy bag came. The theme was Valentine's Day, of course.

With Ipsy, you get a cosmetics bag every month, along with your 5 products. Here's what I got:

1) Bye Bye Concealer by It Cosmetics. Very thick. A little goes a loooonnng way.
2) Lip Lacquer by Model Co in Morocco
3) Theorie Hair Serum
4) Ciate London Nail lacquer Mini Paint Pot
5) treStique stick blush in coral

Here are the colors of the lip gloss, nail polish and blush.

So yesterday was Elli's day at the office, doing her critical spokesmodel duties for Beach Medical.

She was all ready to save the world in her Captain America suit. She's a back seat driver.

She set up her office, along with a new sign, just like the other doctors. This way, her patients can find her.

She double checked that her lunch and "relief facilities" were ready to go.

She immediately got a consult, and headed to the desk to get the stethoscope and BP cuff.

After that, she realized that it was coffee break time, so she summoned her assistant, Renee.

Looks like they went to Starbucks for a frappacino.

She gave her unending gratitude to Renee, Who got a blast of hot Elli breath . (FYI : nasty).

And that was her day!!! She is doing a great job. So onto Friday's links. First, Dawn Lucy at www.fashionshouldbefun.com has Fun Fashion Friday. Next, at www.jolynneshane.com, Jo Lynne has Fashion Friday. And finally, Christie at www.theclosetbychristie.com has Friday Fashion.

Well, I hope you are as excited by the weekend as I am. GO HAVE SOME FUN!!! That's an order.

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE

Elli was so exhausted from working in the coal mine. This was her position this morning.

And They're Off !!!

We have fitness challenges at work, in which you do some type of activity, and if you make the cutoff, you can win a raffle prize. This time, it's a walking challenge, and for the grand prize, each member of a four member team has to log 10,000 steps per day. Here is my pedometer on day one:

Oh hell yes. I usually do my long run on Tuesday, but this week, I switched to Wednesday so we could get the points.

Now onto more important things. Today's color on the magical calendar is green, so this is what I wore:

I am wearing a Nicole Miller satin tunic with green INC pants. I doubled up on green necklaces

I also doubled up on green rings - one is emerald/diamond, and one is Montana peridot.

One more thing - I was watching HSN last weekend, and they offered a product that is supposed to temporarily plump up fine lines. They were giving a two for one deal, so of course I ordered.

Here is the box. It's called Peter Thomas Roth Instant Firm Eye.

It came with a nice brush - they say it's a $20 value. Here are the somewhat complicated instructions.

It's not as bad as it looks. After you do it once or twice, it's pretty easy. My only problem is that I tend to be a little heavy handed. You can feel it working. It feels like your skin is tightening.  Here is my eye before, open and closed.

And here it is after.

The stuff actually works. So I'm glad I got two of them. It can also be used on the lines between the eyes, and on marionette lines around the mouth. Try it out.

Two linkies today - Alice from www.happinessatmidlife.com has Throwback Thursday, and Nicole from www.highlatitudestyle.com has Top Of The World Style. Have a great day, and see you all tomorrow - time to get some steps over at the hospital.
