Penguins, Zebras, White Tigers and Rosie

                  What do they all have in common? They are black and white !!!

I am wearing my DS Dresses DNA dress from Saks. This is one of Doc's favorites. I covered it today with the jacket from my Jones New York white pantsuit.

I wore my Nine West black shoes that I got in DC. they are becoming a real favorite of mine. I think that Nine West shoes are among the most comfy high heels made.

I went for a scientific theme with my jewelry - I figured that would be good with my DNA dress. My necklace is white plastic and silver in a modern theme.

On my right arm, a silver and black cuff and my mother of pearl spaceship ring.

On my left arm, my silver and crystal costume bangle and the matching black onyx spaceship ring.

                                               And of course, the action shot !!!

Doc brought home some multicolored sunflowers for me yesterday - they are a beautiful fall bouquet.

I got some good news yesterday - I have been chosen as a moderator for the session  "Performance Measurement to Sustain Improvement" at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement National Conference. It is December 6-10 in Orlando, and one of the keynote speakers is none other than Magic Johnson himself!!! Looks like I may get to meet him - that would be cool. Doc suggested that I buy one of his books and ask for his autograph. But to me, the big question is "What should I wear?"

Slinky Cat

I remind myself of a black cat today:

I am wearing black slacks that are older than the hills. My knit sweater is by INC, and it's all black except for the collar, which is embroidered in red and gold. Underneath it, I have a gold lurex tank top.

          Since it was in the 40s this morning, I wore my red leather jacket on top of my outfit.

             My matte gold chain with the black cabochons was the perfect complement.  

Another perfect match are my Spiegel boots - they are black suede with gold embroidery.

             On my left arm, a red leather/crystal bracelet and my yellow gold wedding set.

On my right arm, two items from Saks - a white enamel/crystal ring and a stretchy gold tone and crystal bracelet.

                                         Last night, my November Birch Box arrived.

                                                        Here's what was inside:

1) Living Proof Perfect Hair Day dry shampoo
2) Liz Earle Superskin Moisturizer with Natural Neroli
3) Make Face Gloss - the tiny tube
4) LOC One and Done Shadow Stick - this was broken, It was very soft. Not a good first impression.
5) Temple Spa LaLa Lagoon Aromatic Bath and Shower Gel

Lots of big products this month!!! Too bad about the eye shadow, because the color, Impress Me, is a soft brown shade, which I would have used.

So every night when I get home, Elli comes to greet me and ask me about my day.

      Last night, I guess my day was so boring that she didn't even stay to hear the end!!

I did get rid (FINALLY) of a pesky individual yesterday - she didn't even care about that!!!

Let's Get Down to Business !!!

I have a slew of meetings today, so it's all bizness all the time for me today. So here is what I ended up with:

This tweed sheath is made by Calvin Klein, my personal favorite. I had to add the belt, at least until i regain my little beer gut. I covered it with my BCBG Max Azria knit blazer with the silver studs.

My cross necklace from JC Penney ( another all time favorite) seemed to be a perfect match and covered up my bony chest nicely.

On my left arm, a white gold wedding ring, a Swarovksi wide band, and a marcasite cuff that I bought on Ebay.

                 On my right arm, a wide mabe pearl ring and my Swarovski Infinity bracelet.

I wore my New Nine West black smooth/patent pumps and carried my new Anne Klein purse.

Happy Vinn-A-Versary !!!!

So Friday, November 6th, marked one whole year of Vinnie Barbarino Holtzman's living at Casa de Holtzman. So of course, we celebrated in style:

Double cheeeseburgers from Mickey D !!! Kenni, being the one who has lived with us the longest, knew what was gonna go down.

                               The other two culprits caught on once they smelled the aroma.

                                      Vinnie made quick work of his anniversary treat.

                              Hmm, I guess next time, I will have them hold the pickles!!!

Of course, we humans deserved a treat, as well. I bought two large boxes of Mrs Field's cookie dough from a neighbor kid, and so I baked up a few - half Rainbow Chip and half Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup.

   I have repeatedly said, and I'll say it again - Mrs Field's Cookies are the best ever!!!

Well, I started exercising again last Friday night, since my bad cold seems to be getting better. I lost 5 pounds on the Cup A Noodle diet. I worked out for an hour Friday, and then ran a light run on Sunday morning. I did feel better afterwards. My pants are held up with safety pins today. Beer and chips needed.

Wanna know what else made me feel better besides puppers, cookies, and Doc? Macy's sent me a 25% off coupon that was good only yesterday. I was looking for a dark colored tote bag, and so I picked up this Anne Klein beauty:

It is half black leather and half animal print. The animal side has the AK lion logo, and there is a gold plate. The hardware is gold and the lining is bright orange. It's exactly what I had in mind.

One of my coworkers said that she heard on the radio that El Nino was supposed to start on November 9th. And, just as predicted, we had a nice rain storm today that lasted about a half hour. Here's what I wore to greet Mr. Nino.

This is a Nipon Boutique jacket, along with Talbott's slacks and a Joseph A silk knit sweater. I got the jacket during the summer at the same clothing swap where I scored my Yves St Laurent blazer.

It's sort of a greenish-gray color, with fuzzy trim on the collar and pockets. Here's a look, without the jacket.

My Joan Rivers statement necklace was the perfect accompaniment to the look. It tied all the colors together.

                         On my right arm, my new sapphire ring, and a sapphire bangle.

 

          On my left arm, my yellow gold wedding rings and a gold and diamond dust bangle.

Even though I couldn't tell, I guess Elli had fun going into the office on Thursday. Here was her poor little face when Doc told her she couldn't go with him today.

                                             Then she tried to sneak into his bags.

                            Then, to top it off, it rained, and she had to put her pink sweater on.

                                              I know how you feel, my poor little Elli !!!!
