Come Over to the Dark Side...... Boooooo

Okay, so I'm a little early. But at least my outfit fits the bill. First, let me show you the detail on the top that I wore on Saturday for Mimi's dinner. If you recall, it was a crystal pleated top with gold foil and satin straps.

Now that this oh-so-important detail has been accomplished, we can move on to today's outfit:

This is my Suzanne Somers Three Way Poncho, combined with my INC harness print pants. Here's a better look at the pants, along with my Baby Phat purse and my Vince Camuto wedges.

I wore a wide brown elastic belt and my Fleur de Lis necklace, which was a souvenir from New Orleans at some point. It's the symbol of the city.

On my right arm, a goldtone floral bracelet and an agate ring.

On my left arm, a leather and crystal cuff and an antique diamond ring that was my GIL's, along with my eternity band.

So let's reveal the dresses I got in the mystery box on Saturday. First, a lace paneled knit dress from a brand called Jax. I don't have anything else from this brand.

This is a picture from the website, since I "somehow" deleted the one I took. Anyway, here's a look at the Venice lace detail that is sewn on, not printed, and the tag with the style info.

The other dress has the label Saks Fifth Avenue Black, and I have a couple of their dresses. This one has a full pleated skirt and a bateau neckline.

It's black and pink, predominately. It has a cut out in the back, well above the waist, which makes it still appropriate for work.

It's lined in black, but I put a piece of white paper in there to show the cutout. Here's the tag info:

I'll leave you with a couple spoooky outtakes of me in my daily outfit.

Weekends are Wonderful

They're just too short. Nothing really happened on Friday night. But on Saturday morning, I went for my usual run in HB Central Park, and I saw my little geese chicks. There was an older man there, and he told me that they are Egyptian geese.

They are 5 weeks old now ( or at least, I have been seeing them for 5 weeks.) I wonder when their feet will turn red like mama's. I probably won't be seeing them after they start swimming. Then, the new attraction in the park opened:

The Secret Garden!!! It has been redone, and is now open for viewing.

When I was taking the pic, a lady asked me why, and I told her it was for my blog. She was interested because she helped design the garden.

Then, I got home and found this on the dining room table:

Two boxes!!! The pink one is my October Birchbox, and it was celebrating Breast Cancer awareness month.

Here's what was inside:
1) Rusk Elixir Mist - a thermal, UV, and color protecting hair spray. I will take this to DC with me.
2) Calypso St Barth Mimosa Eau de Parfum - citrusy smelling, and light.
3) Acure Organics Cell Stimulating Facial Mask - I was gonna use this last night, but you have to leave it on for 15 minutes, so maybe tonight.
4) Stila Huge Extreme las mascara - this is the full size product. I am currently using Lancome and I don't like it, so I will try this one next.
5) Manna Kadar Cosmetics Lip Locked in Lucky- a primer and stain all in one.

                                                          Now, onto the other box!!!

I bought two more dresses from Saks. Doc told me that I sure shop alot :). But now Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner, and with 4 grandkids, there will be no more personal shopping until after the New Year, because they are all old enough to know that holidays mean gifts!!!  A big piece of bubble wrap came in the box, so I spent some time on Saturday trying to get Elli to lay on top of it. I will save the dress reveal for tomorrow's post.

I even tried to lure her over there with a plastic rat that we got her at Dollar Tree.

Then we went to lunch at Lee's Sandwiches again. We were going out for dinner later, so it was a light lunch.

I had Spring rolls, and Doc had a vegetarian croissant. Then we came home and wrapped Mimi's birthday gift (my MIL). She's 83. We got her the same cross that I wore the other day from the Southwest Indian Foundation.

They are all handmade, so I compared it with mine. Mine has a little more pink in the opals.

Mine is on the left. It's also slightly larger. We wrapped it all up, and gave it to her at dinner.

                                                            Here it is, on Mimi.

We ate at Sagami Tei. We took her there last year, and she loved it and wanted to go back. Here are some pictures of some of the sushi we ate. Mimi had tempura, and my mom had Chicken teriyaki.

Here's what I wore to go to dinner.

These are my gold silk Amanda Smith cigarette pants, topped with a crystal pleated top from Style and Co. I'll take a closeup of the top tonight, since I didn't realize that you can't see it too well here. I wore Style and Co shoes, as well.

So yesterday, I just went running again, and then did some errands, then read my library books. Today is back to work day. Here is what I wore today:

This is a design New York ombre lurex sweater, which is topping two basics - Express ponte pants and a sleeveless black turtleneck. I wore a wide elastic belt with this outfit. It's very comfy.

I did have my Joan Rivers pearl necklace ready to go, but it was too long - it hit the belt. So I changed to my costume goldtone collar necklace.

I carried my Baby Phat purse, and wore my Enzo Angiolini gladiator sandals.

Finally, Preston got his first grade pictures back.

He also got Outstanding Student, and an Honor Roll shirt.

First Fall Friday

It's actually not 110 degrees in the shade today. So I busted out a new combination of old items that are all harvest colors. Here she be:

This is my Ann Taylor ivory slacks, combined with my Cache mango sweater, an Ungaro copper satin blazer, and a Versace scarf. Let's get a closer look at the scarf, with the classic Medusa pattern.

Along with this, i wore my Swarovski convertible pin/clip/pendant thing on the costume gold chevron chain.

Here's a closer look at this sparkly beauty.

On my left arm, another Swarovski piece, this time my Nirvana in Black Diamond, along with a costume pearl bracelet.

On my right hand, my veiny boulder ring from Nordstrom.

Finishing this off are my new Dolce Vita sandals and my Aldo handbag.

The Creature of the Night

I titled this post this way due to the fact that I am wearing an evening piece during the day. Voila.

Three different poses, all giving you major SMIZE. This is a JR Nights brocade top with some strip mall tan pants. Let's get a better look at that brocade, along with my INC necklace.

Sparkly. On my right arm, my Betsey Johnson animal cuff and a flower shaped smoky topaz ring.

On my left, my RJ Graziano rose gold watch and two of the matching bangles, and another topaz ring.

I carried my Baby Phat handbag and wore my Sam and Libby black suede booties.

Last night, I realized that I was out of conditioner, so I "popped" over to Nordstrom and got some.

This oughta do the trick. But I'm not stoppin' there!!! I can't go into a Nordstrom without looking at the shoes. And they had a pair from Dolce Vita that I previously declined, only now they were priced even lower!!!! Decision made.

They are cognac leather, with lug soles and a thin coppery insole. Lurve. Glad I waited. And Doc got me the biggest bunch of sunflowers ever, from Costco. He was there getting his snacks and saw the huge bunch.

Let's link !!! as always, Alice from www.happinessatmidlife.com has Throwback Thursday. Then, Grace from www.colorandgrace.com has Color and Grace. And last, Tara from www.mixmatchfashion.com has What I Wore to Work. Have a great day, and see you all later!!!
