Another Year Older, and Deeper in Debt

That may be true for me, but not these guys!!! On Saturday, we had a joint birthday party for 3 year old Benjy and 5 year old Joseph. It was held at Sigler Park.

The park has a nice playground.

It also has a free water park, with all kinds of attractions.

We had a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle pinata.

There were also TMNT cakes, home made by Kim.

Cousin Emma came with her sister, Lily. Emma fell head over heels in love with Elli.

After this "babysitting", Elli needed a nap in the sun.

She and I had some delicious pizza, sandwiches, and cake.

We decided to go with a hippie theme for our outfits. Here I am.

Here's a better look at the patch on my T shirt, and the crystal trim on my skirt.

Of course, Doc and Elli joined in, too !!!

We gave the boys money for an X box, and their favorite animal from the animal parade last week. Joseph liked the iguana, and Benjy liked the Staffordshire terrier.

Their cards were hand picked by Elli.

Onto another grandson, this time Preston. On Sunday, we went grape picking.

Sorry they are sideways. Can't figure it out. Today was also his first day of first grade.

That's about all. So what am I wearing today?

This is a Bebe jacket, matched with a Loft skirt. The jacket has lacing detail on the front and the back.

My ivory tank has a paillette panel on the front.

I have a hideously awesome necklace that matches perfectly, done in acid green plastic.

On my left arm, a stretchy crystal bracelet from Saks, and a creepy green ring from Nordstrom.

On my right, the matching white enamel/crystal ring and bracelet, also from Saks.

So after this marathon post, let's link up!! First, Cherie at www.stylenudge.com has Shoe and Tell. Then, Rachelle at www.pinksole.com has How I Summer. And last, someone sort of new to me, Deb at www.elegantlyfashionable.com has Classy Monday. Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!!!

Midnight In The Garden of Good and Evil

Like most of us, sometimes I'm good, and sometimes I'm a bit evil. Just ask Kenni. But one thing is certain - I like wearing the color of midnight.

Especially when it's this comfortable. These are the famous paisley pants from Iman Global Chic. And the top is a very old one from Coldwater Creek in Reno, before the demise of the brand. As always, I wore my trusty vintage navy and gold cord belt.

Even though the top has a beaded scarf and braided neckline, I wore two necklaces with it.

The shorter one is the lapis piece I got in Coronado when we went for some romance for Doc's birthday. The longer one is a sapphire pendant that I have had for a while.

On my left arm, a sapphire cocktail ring and a trio of sapphire/diamond bracelets.

On the right, my white enamel/crystal ring and bracelet duo from Saks.

And my daily leg bending act, showing my Aldo purse and my Payless wedges.

That's it for today. This weekend, we are having a joint birthday party for Joseph and Benjy at the local water park. We were going to get them each an iPad, but their parents nixed it, because they go into their rooms and isolate themselves. So we got them and XBox, since that goes on the TV in the living room, where the family hangs out.

Now, let's link. First, Dawn Lucy from www.fashionshouldbefun.com is having Fun Fashion Friday. Then, Christie from www.theclosetbychristie.com is hosting Friday Favorites. And last, but not least, JoLynne from www.jolynneshane.com is having Fashion Friday.

Have a great Friday !!!! PS - It's payday, YAYYY!!!

Big Old Bargains!!!

Yesterday, I had to drink my morning coffee without creamer, because, sadly, I was out. So I decided to get some on the way home. I ran across the Dollar Tree, and figured, why not? So I got these two items for my breakfast.

MMMM. Never saw Cookies and Cream Poptarts before. But I found something even better.

They had a gob of workout DVDs. They even had some from The Firm, but I already had them. But this is a good omen. I will be trying out the top two tonight. I was just thinking that I was getting bored with my selection and needed to go to the discount DVD store or the swap meet. One dollar per DVD is an awesome old bargain.

Let's get going with my outfit for today. Voila.

How do you like the way I blocked my head out? The face I was making was basically not human.

Another view that's slightly less heinous. This very old skirt is by Express. The T shirt is by Candies. I went to Las Vegas and stayed at the Four Seasons a few years ago, and mistakenly left this skirt and another dress in the closet. I called them on the way home, and they shipped the items overnight AT NO CHARGE. That was lovely service. The skirt has crystals scattered about.

The T has 3D embellishment on the front, as well as clear sequins.

So in real life, I am pretty sparkly. I wore my moonstone statement necklace.

I also carried my new purse from the fair, and wore my white DiDe sandals from Nordstrom.

On my left arm, my opal/garnet bracelet and a mabe pearl ring.

On my right, two silver bracelets and a jade ring.

Today's links are the usual Thursday suspects. First, Alice from www.happinessatmidlife.com has Throwback Thursday. Skirt qualifies. Then, Tara at www.mixmatchfashion.com has Summer Style. Whole look qualifies. Lastly, Nicole at www.highlatitudestyle.com has Top Of The World Style. I'm sneakin' in. Thanks for looking, and have a great day!!!

Taco Tuesday

Last night, I met a friend in downtown Huntington Beach for Taco Tuesday at Beachfront 201.

For $5, you can have as much as you want. It's served buffet style. Drinks are extra, but they are cheap also. You can get toasted and stuffed for $15. I forgot that Tuesday is also the day of the Farmer's Market.

It seems to get bigger every time I go there. The latest addition is the pony ride and petting zoo. Here's a lucky kid waiting for his turn.

The petting zoo was small, and they will come for a kid's birthday party. They had my favorite....

Goats !!!! They also had two baby potbellied pigs, a bunch of chickens and a collie puppy.

I strolled around for an hour and a half. It was very pleasant. There were a lot of people still in the water and on the sand, especially for 7 PM in the evening.

And today, it's back to work for me. Here's how I am handling that.

No bueno. Let's get a more pleasant view of this outfit.

This is my tricolor silk skirt from the Gap, and a tiered tank from Loft. The ribbon belt is attached to the waistband of the skirt.

I have a confession to make. I got this big pink cameo at the 99 cent store. Who knew? On my right arm,

My crystal and bead cuff from Saks, and my Swarovski Nirvana in Black Diamond. On my left arm,

Three of my RJ Graziano faux rose gold and crystal bangles and my wedding set. I once again did the leg contortion to show my Carlos Santana suede gladiators and my Aldo purse that I got in Orlando in May.

That's about it. Time to improve my attitude. Linking is always fun, so let's go!!! Three regulars for a hot, hot, hot Wednesday. First, Tameka at www.pastriespumpsandpi.blogspot.com has Who's Wearing What Wednesday. Then, Allison at www.sydneyfashionhunter.com has Wednesday Pants. I can play, because the email she sent me said you can join, even if you aren't wearing white pants, which is her theme for today. And finally, Lindsey at www.thepleatedpoppy.com has What I Wore. So stay cool, my Cali friends, and everyone else too!!!!
