Facing the Weekend!!!

We'll get to the meaning of this in a few. First, On Friday night, I touched my hair color up, so I no longer have a black and grey stripe running down the middle. Yay!! Also, I got a new toy that I will show you in a minute.

On Saturday morning, I went to Boot Camp with my Good Life Champions club. It was a 2 hour class, and you could stay for one or both sessions. There were 5 of us for the first hour, and then only 2, me and Tammy, for the second hour. It was a lot of strength building and core work, and I am surprised that I'm not sore. Then we went out for a well deserved lunch.

We went to Jersey Mike's, where Doc had a giant Philly cheesesteak, and I had a sandwich in a tub, which makes it a salad. Then we went down to visit my mom, who is feeling much better after the injection in her knee a couple of weeks ago. This is what I wore:

I wore Old Navy shorts and a Style and Co top. The shorts are tan with a white pattern, and the top is tan knit with a metallic foil design on the front and flutter sleeves.

I wore an ethnic/tribal style necklace and my Forever 21 tan sandals with the gold studs.

Then we came home and I used my new toy, the Personal Pedi. I have a bad case of runner's feet - callouses and cracks and bumps. So I used this thing for an hour, and it filed down all the ugliness.

It's really gentle. Here's a before and an after of my heel, where it looked the worst.

It's a big difference. Maybe if I use it once a week, I can maintain the soft and smooth appearance.

Then I just read a fascinating book about a teenager who chooses to stop his mental suffering in the worst way.

The topic is not for everyone, but I couldn't put it down until I found out how it ended.

On Sunday, I went for a walk in the morning, then got ready to go to a facial party that my friend Cheryl was having. Here's what I wore to that:

It's a vintage chiffon floral sundress. I wore my Style and Co thong wedges with it.

Elli wanted to go also, but since her face is covered in fur, she stayed behind to wait for me.

The party was at Randi's house in Laguna Niguel. Here are my friends walking in.

Randi has the cutest dog. She reminded me soooo much of my darling Delila (RIP).

                                                                 This is Randi's dog.

This is Delila. See what I mean ?

The party was for Arbonne Vegan certified face products. They were nice, and I bought a few things.
We had mimosas and muffins, then went to In and Out on the way back to Elesha's house.

I can't wait for them to arrive. So that's how I faced the weekend. Today, it's back to work.

I am wearing a silk paisley dress by Express, with a linen and rayon safari jacket by Yansi Fugel on top. Here's the dress.

I wore a blue and green necklace that I had to fix a little bit before I could wear it.

On my right arm, a turquoise cuff and a blue topaz ring.

On the left, another turquoise cuff and a turquoise/MOP ring that Luke, Ashley and Preston got me.

I wore my Carlos Santana gladiator sandals.

So that's about it for now. I have a pretty busy schedule this week at work, and then some more fun, like the county fair, a concert, and another party, next weekend. And on August 8, there will be a joint Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle party for Joseph and Benjy at the local water park.

Finally Friday !!!

Let's hope it's not too freaky. For a slew of meetings today, I decided to wear something comfy and fuss free - my DS Dresses DNA dress from Neiman Marcus.

I last wore this dress on June 30th, immediately after it came in the mail. This time around, I changed up the shoes and necklace. For today, I went with my Leopoldo Giordano butterfly shoes.

Instead of the white doohickey necklace, I wore an agate one.

On my right arm, my silver/crystal costume bracelet, and a marcasite ring that was a gift from Luke, Ashley, and Preston.

On my left arm, a wedding set and an Anne Klein white enamel watch.

On Wednesday night, Doc and I were invited for dinner to Kim, Nathan, Joseph, Benjamin, and Calista's house. Kim made fried chicken, salad, green beans, fruit salad and banana bread. It was all delicious. We had ordered some AAA realistic replica animals for the kids to play with. They were a huge hit. After dinner, we made an animal parade with all of them.

Benjy was all ready for a scooter ride after the parade. My favorite was the Okapi, Joseph's was the iguana, and Benjy's was the Staffordshire terrier. We also had them ride to school in the school bus.

So let's do our Friday linking!!! First, Dawn Lucy from www.fashionshouldbefun.com has Fun Fashion Friday. Then, Christie from www.theclosetbychristie.com has Friday Favorites. And then, Lauren from www.stylelixir.com has Fab Fridays. Have a great day, and visit some great blogs, too!!!

Move Over For My MuuMuu

First of all, bite update. I made a Wanted poster for my sweet (grrrr) Kenni because of the mad chomping he inflicted on my arm.

But since it's basically all better, I took it down before someone actually wants the million dollar ransom.

It's still humid here, but not as bad since Hurricane Dolores said goodbye. But I still opted for my favorite muumuu, from Macy's in Fort Lauderdale.

It's made by Bar III. That's one of the brands that they carry in their Impulse section. I always wear a cobalt blue cami underneath it, because I like the way the lace peeks out.

I also always wear my lapis and black onyx self made necklace. On my right hand,

Two sapphire bracelets and a sapphire/diamond ring. On my left hand,

A dark London blue topaz and two more sapphire bracelets. I would never be able to afford a sapphire the size of that knuckle dusting topaz. I also wore favorite shoes, by Boutique 9.

Last night, Doc got me more flowers. He seems to be well trained, and he hit on something easy that makes me happy. The shop is literally 2 minutes away from our house.

When I was taking my outfit shot, the ghost that appeared in a shot from our house found her way to my place of work.

The ghosts in my head are real!!!! oooh. So let's link up!!!As always, Alice from www.happinessatmidlife.com has Throwback Thursday. Then, Tara from www.mixmatchfashion.com has Summer Style. And finally, Nicole from www.highlatitudestyle.com has Top Of the World Style.

It's getting to be time to get the kids ready for back to school, and in California, they have to be vaccinated. I know it may be a somewhat controversial topic, but as an Epidemiologist, I must put in my two cents:

Have a great day!!!!

Heavy Metal

Today's outfit has a lot of metal trim going on.

This pleated skirt is by my favorite brand, Calvin Klein. It's topped with a tank by Luox, and a soft jersey waterfall cardi that my MIL gave me. Here's a closer look at the trim on the tank.

There are chains and sequins galore!!! I wore my mother of pearl spaceship necklace, since it's smaller and doesn't compete or interfere with all those dangly bits. The cardi also has studs in the shoulder region for more rock and roll vibes.

I could have easily gone beltless, but I tied a black satin ribbon around the waist, just for a little extra oomph.

On my right arm, a vintage bracelet that I fixed over the last long weekend, and a mother of pearl ring. The bracelet is the perfect width to hide my chomp marks from Kenni/Vinni biting me the other day.

On my left arm, my favorite costume silver bracelet with crystals, and another mother of pearl spaceship ring.

I wore my Nine West gray ankle strap shoes for the finishing touch.

Lotsa links today!!! First, Tameka at www.pastriespumpsandpi.blogspot.com has Who's Wearing What Wednesday. Then, Liz at www.shoppingmycloset.com has Style Me Wednesday. The Spoils of Swag

I told you that I would reveal the three items that I selected at the clothing swap on Sunday. So without further ado, numero uno!!!!

An Yves St Laurent flared hem jacket. So cute on the hanger, but wait until the end of the post to see how it looks on. Next, another jacket, this time from Nipon Boutique.

This one will have to be saved for cooler weather, but it's also really cute. The fuzzy trim goes around the collar, down the front, and at the top of the pockets. Lastly, a Loft skirt.

It will also have to wait for some cooler weather. It has machine embroidered trim at the hem.

So that's what I got from bartering. But, a box came again yesterday, with three things that I actually paid for :). Saks was having a flash sale, with some items 70-80% off, so I got three bracelets that I have been eyeing. First, a brass link bracelet with two Howlite stones.

Then, a multistrand bracelet of amber toned beads with a cool crystal clasp.

And finally, the matching bracelet to the enamel ring that I wear all the time.

So let's see how some of this looked once I put it on. First, my outfit for today:

It's the YSL jacket with a pair of Armani trousers. The shape of the jacket is adorable. It has wide shoulders and a nipped in waist. This shape makes me think that the jacket is 80s vintage, but it has either never been worn, or not worn very often, because it is in pristine condition. On my right arm,

The two matching enamel and crystal pieces!!!! Luuuurrrvvveee it.  On my left arm,

My wedding rings, and a stretchy crystal bracelet that I got at Saks last year, when I got the enamel ring. For my necklace, I stuck with the polka dot theme, but branched out as far as colors are concerned.

This is the necklace that I got at Charming Charlie a couple of weeks ago. I was going to wear some Valentino sandals, but the heel was too low for the length of the pants.

They are the ones on the right. So I switched to my Payless $10 wedges.

And the big reveal is over!!!! So let's link. First, Jess from www.elegantlydressedandstylish.com is having Turning Heads Tuesday. I finally feel somewhat elegant and like a head turner :). Then, Kileen from www.cuteandlittle.com is hosting On Trend Tuesday. And finally, Lauren from www.stylelixir.com has her weekly Style Sessions. I hope you have a great day and get yourself all styled up as pretty as these ladies did!!!
