I leave for my trip to Charleston, Savannah, and Atlanta in a little less than a month. I have all my flights paid for and my hotels reserved. I also have most of my clothes ready to go. I have ordered a lot of accessories and costume jewelry from Temu because I don't want to take anything nice with me.
In the meantime, this is what I wore on March 3rd. My pants and T shirt are Gucci, and my jacket is Draper and Damon's. The leopard shoes are Temu.
On March 4th, we went to HB Central Park so Doc could go to the library, and I could go for a walk. I saw this egret and these cute redheaded ducks there.
On March 5th, I wore this outfit to hang out. My pants are INC, the orange sweater is H&M, and the leather jacket is from Apostrophe. My velvet belt is Ann Taylor, and my shoes are from Temu.
On March 6th, it poured rain, so I wore this blue merino wool sweater from Bloomingdales with pinstriped slacks from Express.
I went to Hobby Lobby and got these things - a ceramic rabbit, a candle, some jewelry string, and a mister for my new seeds.
I also got these two boxes for charger cords and stuff like that, and a Welcome mat that I will show you later.
Here is the rabbit in place.
Here are the boxes.
I planted seeds that day as well. I labelled them all with the variety and the date that they are supposed to germinate.
Here is the progress as of today, March 25th. The two daisies seem to be the slow pokes.
On March 9th, Mimi and I went to a play, "James and the Giant Peach." It was put on by The Phantom Projects Theater.
I wore this three-piece sweater knit pantsuit that I got from the TikTok shop. The necklace was my mom's, but it needed restringing, so I did that after I went to Hobby Lobby. This outfit was really nice and it cost only around $20. We went to lunch beforehand, and I had menudo for the first time. I thought it was delicious!
The play was held at the La Habra Depot Theater, an old train station.
The very talented cast sat on the stage before the show to greet the audience.
This gentleman is the founder of the theater. The cast was incredible!
This is the giant peach.
On March 10th, we went over to Mimi's house while our housekeeper was cleaning. My entire outfit came from a brand called Onque, that was sold at Stein Mart. I miss that store - they had nice stuff.
On March 11th, I went to a few body shops to get estimates to repaint my car's front end. I ended up choosing Imperial Auto body, and they did a fantastic job! My little Snowball looks brand new, when in reality, I have had her for ten years. They also shined up her headlights.
I wore my Canadian tuxedo - I got it at a sample sale in the Los Angeles garment district many years ago. My necklace was a souvenir for a trip to Charlotte, NC., and was from The Taste of Charlotte event.
That night, we had the most beautiful clouds, and a rainbow!
Also, that night, Pandi was very snuggly and cuddly due to the rain.
March 13th gave us the Blood Moon. It's a full moon with a total eclipse. We saw it about 11:30 PM.
On March 13th, I went to Bath and Body Works to shop the half price candle sale. I wore crushed velvet jeans, an ivory sweater from Banana Republic, and a cashmere poncho from Kenneth Cole. My shorter necklace is Navajo Pearls from Southwest Indian Foundation and the longer one is from Guess.
On March 14th, I went to Lab Corp to get my annual blood draw, and to check my measles titers to see if I need a booster before my trip. There is currently an outbreak in Texas, and I have a layover in Dallas.
Update: I get my booster shot on March 31st, so I have three weeks to build immunity.
I wore a no name T shirt dress with boots from Moda and a suede jacket from Bandolino. The amber bead necklaces were my mom's.
I got my Ipsy bag - from top to bottom:
1) Whats UP Beauty Mascara in Watch Me!
2) Formula Z Lightbulb Swirl Liquid Illuminator in Very Slay
3) Glow Recipe Guava Vitamin C Bright Eye Gel Cream
4) Saturday Skin Acai Berry and Oats Antioxidant Gel Cleanser
5) Karma Beauty Multi peptide Hair Serum
On March 16th, Mimi and I went to see the play The Wiz. It was put on by the Santa Ana High School Theater and was held at the Bill Medley Auditorium. Bill Medley was one of the Righteous Brothers. We met him in an elevator leaving a bar in Fashion Island. He was very drunk and got mad when we didn't recognize him.
The courtyard had a monument to the soldiers of World War I who hailed from Santa Ana.
I wore an ivory satin skirt from Macy's an embroidered top from INC, boots from Sam Edelman, and my Apostrophe leather jacket.
I drew a picture of my house. I got a frame from Savers and here is the finished product.
My Birchbox came - inside from Left to right:
1) 100% Pure Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream.
2) Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray
3) Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream
4) Caviar Anti-Aging Bond Repair Shampoo and Conditioner
5) Verb Reset Sealing Mist
6) Style Edit Root Touch Up
I got a few other treasures from Savers - first, a pumpkin pie plate with a recipe on the bottom.
Then, a Pennsylvania Dutch pie plate. It says," When the Fragrance of Your Baking Hits the House with Smells so Nice, We All get That Natural Aching for - Please may we Have a Slice?" It's limited edition and is number 39 of 1042.
I also got these black suede booties from Sonoma.
The big score was this Kate Spade in the Loop belt - retails for $58, I paid $4.
I will be taking this Cyrus tunic sweater on my trip with me. It will go with everything. It has ribbing on the hem.
On March 19th, Pandi snoozed in the sun next to the antique sewing machine.
On March 21st, Kim, Nathan, and the kids came out from Arizona to go to her mother's surprise party for her 80th birthday. We had lunch with them. I wore an outfit from Tommy Hilfiger.
Now for my Temu finds! First, black on black slip-on sneakers to wear on the flights.
Then, a brushed goldtone free-form bangle bracelet.
Another David Yurman dupe to add to the stack that I already have.
These stretchy gold and pearl bracelets were a free gift - one of four!
These four delicate rings will serve as my wedding band during the trip.
These three real lapis and pearl necklaces are mix and match and only cost $25!
And here is my front porch, steps newly sanded and painted, flowers trimmed and shaped, and my new Welcome mat in place!
So that's about all for now - stay tuned for the next chapter of my exciting life!
