Ahoy, mateys!!

Every year, we have a Patient Safety Fair. It is open to the entire hospital, and they can come and learn all kinds of new things. This year's theme was pirates. So of course, I went as an over the top Captain Sparrow.

That's me, in the middle. As you can see, I even had a parrot on my shoulder. Strangely enough, the parrot was the only thing I had to purchase to make my costume. That ought to tell you something.

Sorany always makes the best posters!!! Check this one out.

My friend has a son who is 3 or 4 years old. When Doc was a kid, and when our grandson Preston was little, they each got a treasure chest filled with silver dollars. I made a treasure chest out of a card file box. I glued gems to the top. I also made Cody a personalized treasure map.

Inside the box, I put Mardi gras beads, plastic diamonds, and Hanukah gelt (as doubloons).

I filled an old velvet jewelry box with quarters. Cody was most excited by the doubloons.

So what have I been wearing lately? Way back on March 18,

I wore a knit lurex skirt from INC with a cold shoulder top from Express.

Here's a closer look at the skirt. It's just a straight knit tube.

Here's the costume necklace that I wore with this outfit.

I got a lot of comments that my shoes matched perfectly. They are from Nine West, and I have the same pair in brown, yellow and orange.

On March 19, I started with this vintage wiggle dress.

I topped it with an Ellen Tracy boucle jacket.

The sleevs of the dress are unlined lace, and the skirt is the same lace, only lined.

The jacket has tulle trim, studded with square crystals. I wore a pearl drop necklace with this.

Then on Monday, March 25,

I attempted to recreate an outfit that I saw on one of my favorite Instagram accounts, Sea of Shoes.

It looks sort of dumpy in the pictures, but I felt good and got a lot of compliments. I got the pants in Montana, and the cold shoulder top is Joseph A. It is a soft knit tunic covered with a chiffon layer.
My necklaces are all INC, and I got them in Orlando.

The nest two days saw more vintage dresses. On March 26, I wore a dress with a drop waist that ends in deep pleats.

On top, a sweater from Joseph A that reminded me of the treasure chest, and a costume collar necklace.

On Wednesday, March 27, I wore a linen sleeveless shift dress with a pinstripe blazer over it.

You can just barely see the pinstripes here. I wore my black velvet Ann Taylor belt and a convertible pendant on a pearl strand from Joan Rivers.

Last weekend, I made a giant pork roast. Pandi had her giant bone this week.

Don't worry - this throw rug can go in the washing machine.

Also don't worry - this is Pan's blanket, not our bed.

Well that's about all - see you later !!

Have A Heart !!

On Saturday, I did the American Heart Association Heart Walk. It's a 5k stroll around the Big A, The home of the Anaheim Angels of Los Angeles.

There were a lot of dogs there. I didn't bring Pandi, because she is not the best behaved dog in the world, by a long shot.

They had the usual Easy Ups for vendors, most of whom were local hospitals and nursing schools.

When I got home, this was on the front window:

He was pretty large. We have seen a lot of those painted lady butterflies in SoCal over the past week. They are relatives of the more famous Monarch. Since we have had a lot of rain this year, the plant that they lay their eggs on has grown in abundance, so the butterflies have also. They are migrating to Northern California. I don't really get it, because their life span is 2-4 weeks, so it seems like they spend their whole lives flying. Maybe that's what they like to do. I hope so.

So let' take a look at four of my outfits from the past week. On the 11th,

I wanted to wear the white Theory jacket that I got last weekend. I combined it with my trusty black ponte pants and a black and white silk top.

The top has lots of floof - ruffles, pleats, beads and ribbon. About the most I can say is that I was comfy. I probably won't repeat this outfit.

On Tuesday, I wore a skirt from.......Mossimo !!! He's the man who is married to Lori Loughlin and who together, bribed USC to let their daughters into school. 500 k for two daughters. That's a lot of scratch, on top of the huge tuition. Stupid move.

On top, I wore a brown suede jacket from BCBG Max Azria and two T shirt tops.

One of the shirts is grey with pewter bugle beads and the other is tan with organza petals. I wore my grey suede boots with this. I got a lot of compliments on this one, and I did feel good in it.

I loved Wednesday's getup. So did a lot of people at work. I wore the bright blue jacket from Sunny Name with a striped knit skirt from Express.

Underneath, I wore a heavy satin reversible tank. It never had a label. I also wore a lot of sapphires and my gold tone triple chain belt.

These shoes are from Cristian Siriano.

Today, I am wearing a kimono dress from INC. The black parts are silk satin.

My wonderful black plastic waterfall necklace makes yet another appearance.

I received my two cosmetic bags this week. Birchbox actually came early this month.

From top to bottom:
1) ModelCo Metallic Eyeshadow Trio in Positano - I had this one before, and used it all up. Now I get to use it again !! It has beige, ivory and copper, all glimmery.
2) Marcelle BB Cream Golden Glow
3) Luxie Beauty 213 Eye Shading Rose Gold Brush
4) Arrow BOOST Color Enhancing Lip Balm - it takes me forever to finish a lipstick, but this sounds interesting.
5) Comfort Zone Active Pureness Fluid - a base moisturizer with a matte finish
6) Marula Light Hair Oil Treatment - for frizz, which is one of my hair issues.

Here's the Ipsy bag. It's rose gold (must be the makeup thing this year) and it says "and off she went to change the world".

Here's what it had, from top to bottom :
1) Illamasqua Hydra Veil Primer - also a makeup primer formula.
2) Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm - I used this already, and it has a very waxy texture, but it works well and smells good.
3) PUR Afterglow Mini Highlighting Skin Perfecting Powder - I am almost out of the yellow Clinique finishing powder, so this will come in handy.
4) Ciate London Mini Lip Lustre in Call Me - it looks pretty in the tube. Too bad the Ipsy people call lipsticks "lippies". Another stupid thing.
5) Purlisse Cocoonut Oil and Coffee Body Butter, - purportedly full of Asian beauty secrets. Smells nice.

Well, tomorrow is spa day for Pandi. She takes a medication called Apoquel for her hypersensitivity itching, and she needs a liver panel blood test. I am also having her bathed, dipped and glands expressed. She will not be happy. But I will, and I am the boss.

See you all soon !!
